    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Vaccine Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating vaccine management activities, including ordering vaccines, ensuring vaccines are stored and handled correctly, vaccine inventory tracking, and staff training. The Vaccine Coordinator ensures proper storage of vaccine in compliance with standards, maintains record keeping and appointment system, and maintains systems to assure high compliance with state regulation. Supervises entry of vaccine and immunization data to ensure compliance with state regulation and prepares reports as needed for the CA State Department of Health</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Performance Area 1: Vaccine Management (95%)</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ordering vaccines</li>\n <li>Overseeing proper receipt and storage of vaccine deliveries</li>\n <li>Is present when vaccine is delivered and immediately process it into inventory</li>\n <li>Documenting vaccine inventory information and organizing vaccines within storage units</li>\n <li>Setting up temperature monitoring devices</li>\n <li>Reading and recording storage unit temps a minimum of two times each workday</li>\n <li>Reading and recording current minimum/maximum temps from a digital data logger two times each workday</li>\n <li>Reviewing and analyzing temperature data at least weekly for any shifts in temperature trends</li>\n <li>Performing a physical inventory of all vaccine in stock</li>\n <li>Rotating stock at least weekly so vaccine with the earliest expiration dates are used first</li>\n <li>Removing expired vaccine from storage units</li>\n <li>Responding to out-of-range temperatures (temp excursion)</li>\n <li>Maintaining all documentation, such as inventory and temperature logs</li>\n <li>Monitoring operation of storage equipment and systems</li>\n <li>Overseeing proper vaccine transport (when necessary)</li>\n <li>Overseeing emergency preparations, including plans for ensuring safety of vaccine during emergencies</li>\n <li>Implementing the written emergency response plan, as necessary</li>\n <li>Tracking inclement weather conditions in order be prepared for power outages that might affect vaccine temperature maintenance</li>\n <li>Ensuring appropriate handling of vaccines during disaster or power outage</li>\n <li>Accounting for doses of returned or transferred vaccines since the last order</li>\n <li>Completing and submit daily reports</li>\n <li>Manage vaccine Registry Systems</li>\n <li>Train staff on vaccine requirements for CA State Department of Health Services</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Performance Area 2: Leadership/Management (5%)</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to supervise clinic staff including immunization nurses, as needed</li>\n <li>Ensuring that any staff who are involved in vaccine handling and administration are properly trained</li>\n <li>Assists in the development, review, and revision of vaccine policies, procedures and protocols</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Completed LVN training program from an accredited school. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Valid LVN License</li>\n <li>Possess a valid Lifesaving Certification (BLS,CPR)</li>\n <li>Possess a valid driver's license </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>PRIOR EXPERIENCE:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum 1 year of experience in a health care setting, preferably in an ambulatory care setting. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>SKILLS</strong>:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Flexibility and dependability. Attendance is critical.</li>\n <li>Skilled in independent decision making </li>\n <li>Ability to clearly and comfortably delegate tasks to others</li>\n <li>Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm under pressure </li>\n <li>Meticulous attention to detail </li>\n <li>Excellent technical and computer skills</li>\n <li>Thorough working knowledge of the CDC's guidelines</li>\n <li>Willingness to invest time in monitoring changes in a rapidly changing field </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The hourly wage range that UHC reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire starts at $33.82 an hour.
