Position Summary The Part-Time Mission Delivery Support Specialist position helps bring the Girl Scout mission to life by connecting girls and families to opportunities and experiences. This role supports the entire membership team through recruitment and community events, council staffed activities and volunteer support. This is a remote-based position that requires regular attendance at in-person meetings and community engagement events and occasional attendance at the Overland Park office. Part-time hours consist of approximately 20 hours per week and occasionally up to 30 hours. Employee must reside within the Greater Kansas City metropolitan area. To be successful in this position, working in the community, including evenings and weekends, is require. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Supports the recruitment team by assisting with event execution, follow-up communication, troop formation support, and program delivery for new members. Serves as the primary on-site host for in-school and evening registration events designed to introduce Girl Scouts to prospective girls, families, and volunteers; partners with staff and volunteers to support local events and activities. Supports council activities in the retail shop, at camp, cookie cupboards and other identified council events and activities. Comfortable using all forms of communication (i.e., in-person, virtual, email, text, phone calls, social media and presentations) to assist with recruiting and volunteer support. Collaborates with internal and external audiences, as needed. Comfortable learning and using the council’s volunteer management database system(s) to manage and support prospective and current members through recruitment and volunteer lifecycles; maintains accurate records. Maintains supplies and assists with the distribution and placement of marketing materials, including flyers and yard signs. Acts as a brand ambassador for Girl Scouts by representing the organization with consistent messaging, professionalism, and enthusiasm in the community. Desired Qualifications: Interpersonal Relations - establishes rapport internally at all organizational levels as well as with external audiences; respects others; considers and responds to the needs, feelings, and capabilities of others; establishes and maintains an open dialogue with others. Self-Management and Self-Assurance - assesses own skills and abilities and identifies areas for improvement; willingly accepts constructive feedback; a self-starter who seeks developmental opportunities; sets and achieves goals; works independently. Team Collaboration - works effectively as part of a team and supports collaborative partnerships with council staff, volunteers and other stakeholders to achieve shared goals. Judgment and Decision-Making - recognizes when immediate action is required; makes independent decisions and exhibits strong resourcefulness in finding solutions.Engages supervisor in decisionmaking when ambiguous circumstances or guardrails are unclear. Accountability – responsible for both the qualitative and quantitative outcomes in an assigned territory or scope of work; able to demonstrate personal contributions to both individual and team goals. Responsiveness/Active Listening - seeks and acknowledges the views and ideas from all stakeholders including volunteers and staff; listens and comprehends what others are saying, takes time to answer questions and explain decisions; follows through on commitments in a timely manner. Volunteer Relations/Management - understands the functions of volunteers; works effectively with volunteers and demonstrates flexibility to support their needs; seeks ways to recognize volunteer accomplishments. Oral and Written Communication - able to communicate effectively with diverse audiences of girls, volunteers, staff and other stakeholders across all communication channels; expresses ideas and facts in a clear and understandable manner appropriate for an individual or group. Confidentiality – can maintain confidentiality with a wide range of sensitive topics. Commitment to Inclusiveness - supports the Girl Scout mission by fostering an environment that welcomes and includes girls and adults from diverse backgrounds. Qualifications Education and Experience: Any combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job, ideally with two to four years of progressively responsible related experience. Technical Computer Skills – comfortable using or learning Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook, Customer Relationship Management systems, and social media networking. Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record and proof of current insurance coverage. Consistent, reliable transportation to meet job duties is required. Employment is dependent upon the results of a criminal background investigation. Bilingual – a plus but not required Working Conditions: This position is remote based, with regular travel required to the Overland Park office, various meeting locations around the Kansas City metro area, and our two camp locations. This position may require evening and weekend hours to attend events and meetings. Work is performed in a normal interior environment with some exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dirt and dust, and extreme heat or cold. Work schedules may vary; staff are encouraged to partner with their supervisor to maintain a healthy work/life balance. May be required to lift and transport event materials and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds. Will be working with both adults and girls. Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements: Must be authorized to work in the United States.
