    "description": "<p><strong>SUMMARY:&nbsp;</strong><br />\r\nIn accordance with RNP&#39;s Mission Statement, Philosophy of Client Care and Code of Ethics as stated in the Personnel Policies and under the supervision of the Clinical Coordinator, counsels individuals and/or groups regarding substance abuse problems and co-occurring disorders, and develops and implements a therapeutic treatment plan by performing the following duties.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n\r\n<p><u><strong>HOURS:</strong></u><strong> </strong>Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 3:30 pm&nbsp;</p>\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: </strong>All duties are subject to accommodation in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Completes clinical contacts with assigned clients in the form of individual therapy and group counseling.&nbsp;<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Takes lead role in case management needs of assigned cases.&nbsp;<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Implements therapeutic treatment using approved methods of planning, counseling, case management and crisis intervention to assist clients in overcoming substance abuse disorders and other co-occurring issues.<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Prepares and maintains records on assigned caseload and issues reports, according to Agency and regulatory body standards.&nbsp;<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Ability to complete documentation in a timely manner.<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Consults with Clinical Coordinator, Medical Doctor, Psychiatric staff or other specialists concerning treatment plan and amends plan as directed.<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Provides information and education to individuals, families and groups concerning substance abuse and mental health disorders (co-occurring disorder).<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Refers clients to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling.<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Is an Agency approved driver.&nbsp;<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Provides coverage support for administrative positions as needed.&nbsp;<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Assumes all other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong><br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Excellent communication skills and customer service representation.&nbsp;<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Knowledge of principles and techniques of counseling.&nbsp;<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Knowledge of American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) requirements and core principles.<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Ability to gather, analyze and evaluate information pertinent to the care of clients. &nbsp;<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Ability to meet Agency and regulatory body standards of documentation.&nbsp;<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Knowledge of the physical, psychological, social and economic effects of substance abuse, homelessness, medical and mental health issues. &nbsp;<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Knowledge of community resources. Considerable knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality. &nbsp;<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships. &nbsp;<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Ability to project a professional image.</p>\r\n\r\n<p><br />\r\n&nbsp;</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:</strong><br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Licensed alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) or Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC)<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Bachelor&#39;s degree in the behavioral sciences and two (2) years experience in counseling preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.&nbsp;<br />\r\n&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Valid Connecticut driver&#39;s license may be required<br />\r\n&nbsp;</p>\r\n",
