    "description": "<p>The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and restoring patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team members and educate patients and the public about various health conditions.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Additionally, they will be responsible for delivering babies and providing antenatal and postnatal advice, care and support to women, their babies, their partners and families.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">The </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Registered Nurse/Midwife </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">will be responsible for performing the following key duties:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Resolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies</li>\n<li>Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols</li>\n<li>Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions</li>\n<li>Record and report patients' medical information and vital signs</li>\n<li>Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans</li>\n<li>Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments</li>\n<li>Provide pre and post operative care</li>\n<li>Examine and monitor pregnant women</li>\n<li>Monitor the foetus during labour</li>\n<li>Take patient samples, pulses, temperatures and blood pressures</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">The ideal candidate must possess:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Essential knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristic</li>\n<li>Infection control skills</li>\n<li>Medication administration skills</li>\n<li>Good bedside manner</li>\n<li>Excellent listening, written, interpersonal, multi-tasking and verbal skills</li>\n<li>Data entry skills</li>\n<li>ICU / PACU trained</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications and experience:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing</li>\n<li>A Minimum of five (5) CXC passes at General Proficiency, including English and Mathematics </li>\n<li>Computer proficiency</li>\n<li>BLS/ACLS Certified</li>\n<li>Post Graduate Diploma in Midwifery</li>\n<li>PROMPT certified would be an asset</li>\n</ul>",
