Description

Internship Eligible A Camp Counselor has an awesome summer outdoors, being a mentor to girls, and providing fun all day long! Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. Camp is one of the outlets to make that mission a reality for many girls. A Camp Counselor is a part of that mission each summer. As a Camp Counselor, you will: Assist in the operation of the camp and its programs to reflect the goals of Girl Scouting. Live on site as an overnight employee during camp season (Sunday-Friday, required. Saturday, optional). Work with the Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director to plan and implement activities and experiences in the group through girl-led planning, the session theme, and the Girl Scout program emphasis. Observe and supervise camper behavior, identify and respond to hazards, assist campers in emergencies (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury). Teach and promote respect for others: valuing and understanding differences and similarities of campers and staff. Possess the strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers, ensuring their physical and emotional health and safety at all times. Assist in maintaining sanitation, housekeeping, and care of camp grounds, supplies and equipment. Assist with the storing and packing of equipment for safety during and at the end of the season. Inform the Camp Director of day-to-day group successes and concerns, as well as camper health and other group issues. Maintain a good rapport with parents and the community.
