    "requisitionDescription": "<p style=\"margin-left:0in;\" data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>FLSA Classification:&nbsp;</strong>Non Exempt, Part Time</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Salary Range:&nbsp;</strong>$25-$29/class DOQ</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Reports to:&nbsp;</strong>Fitness Coordinator</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Date:&nbsp;</strong>June 2026</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Summary</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Under the direction and supervision of the Fitness Coordinator, a Group Exercise Instructor (Aqua, Zumba, Cycle, etc) is primarily responsible for planning and implementing Group Exercise Classes.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Essential Duties</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><em>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential duties.</em></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Plan and instruct Group Exercise Classes based on format, level and class description as detailed in the published group exercise schedule</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Educate class participants on correct form and alternative moves during the fitness routine</li></ul></div><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Represent the Joliet Park District as an ambassador of health and wellness in the community&nbsp;</li><li>Promote the Inwood Athletic Club group fitness program and its instructor team</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Hours</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Part time position with hours scheduled by the Fitness Coordinator based on the Group Exercise Schedule. Classes are scheduled 7 days per week and could include evenings and holidays. Schedule could change quarterly. Fitness Coordinator works with instructor team to determine format based on fitness trends and instructor availability when developing the ongoing schedule. Must be willing and able to sub when necessary.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Supervisory responsibilities</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">None&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Work environment</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Employee&rsquo;s general work area indoors is a smoke-free environment with controlled temperature and fluorescent lighting. Employee may be exposed to noise distractions from employees, participants, or equipment operation in adjacent work areas.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Physical demands</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><em>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">In addition to the above, fitness instructors are required to be able to perform and/or demonstrate the physical movements included in the class format being taught.
