The Pharmacist in Charge ensures the maintenance of efficient pharmacy operation, customer satisfaction and loyalty and regulatory compliance.</p><p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide pharmaceutical care to Customers, including processing and accurately dispensing prescription orders, counseling Customers regarding health care and prescription medication needs, maintaining confidential information, maintaining controlled medication, and required documentation.</li><li>Knowledge of LTC pharmacy dispensing software</li><li>Knowledge of pharmacy packaging automation (hardware &amp; software)</li><li>Oversees the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions medications to patients</li><li>Supports for the financial performance of the pharmacy as a unit of the overall organization</li><li>Partners with management in implementation and delivery of business growth initiatives</li><li>Notifies the Director of potential violations of any statute, rule or court order existing within the pharmacy</li><li>Monitors industry, regulatory and compliance industry, regulatory and compliance developments (e.g., state Board of Pharmacy, DEA, FDA, etc.) for pending regulatory changes and partner with pharmacy management to address</li><li>Works with staff to communicate and educate team on pharmacy-related issues including, but not limited to, regulatory changes/compliance, FDA drug recalls, drug information, sample medications, and investigational studies</li><li>Works with Director to integrate quality assurance programs for pharmacy services designed to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of patient care, pursue opportunities to improve patient care, and resolve identified problems.</li><li>Maintains a pharmacy technician training manual for the specific practice setting of which he/she is in charge</li><li>Supervises training programs conducted pursuant to the training manual for all individuals employed by the pharmacy who will assist in the practice of pharmacy</li><li>Maintains a record of all technicians successfully completing the pharmacy&#39;s technician</li><li>training program, as necessary</li><li>Attests to the Board in a timely manner those persons who have met the training requirements necessary for registration with the Board, as necessary</li><li>Works with regional pharmacy manager to implement policies and procedures for the procurement, storage, security and disposition of drugs and devices</li><li>Assures that all pharmacists and interns employed at the pharmacy are currently licensed and that all pharmacy technicians employed are currently registered with the board (where state law requires)</li><li>Makes or files any reports required by state or federal laws, rules, and regulations</li><li>Works with Director to respond to the board regarding any warning notice issued by the board</li><li>Supervises policies and procedures implemented for maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of prescription information and patient health care information, and ensures that all employees of the pharmacy read, sign, and comply with the established policies and procedures</li><li>Implements written policies and procedures to specify the duties to be performed by pharmacy technicians</li><li>Ensures pharmacy is in compliant with all local, state, and federal accrediting rules and regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy</li><li>Serves as a primary source of information and responds to internal and external customer questions or clarification of information</li><li>May perform various duties associated with narcotic room compliance to include but not limited to reporting of periodic pharmacy self-surveys for controlled substances prescription accuracy, respond to and resolve regulatory surveyor&#39;s inquires related to compliance issues, contact physician to receive hard copy of prescription and perform drug recall surveillance and reporting</li><li>Responsible for the supervision, training, and development of pharmacy staff</li><li>Responsible for delivering pharmacy staff progress improvement plans and staff accountability by adhering to company policy in line with the current Strategic Improvement Plan</li><li>On call rotation every fourth to fifth weekend</li></ul><p><strong>REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p><ul><li>Hold an active and good standing Pharmacy License in the state of practice (California)</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s or Doctoral degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy</li><li>3 years IV clinical experience preferred</li><li>Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays</li><li>5+ years Supervisory experience in a Pharmacy setting managing others</li></ul>\n    </div>\n  \n",
