The Detour UG project is an advanced underground exploration project based out of Detour mine project located in Northern Ontario. Reporting to the Manager, Detour Lake Underground Operations, you will be lead of the Geology Department. You will ensure the proper geological practices of the team are being followed in terms of planning, organizing, managing and controlling programs to define and extract the mineral reserves/resources existing at the mining site and in its vicinity. You will play an important role in the life of mine and departmental cost management. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment. Manage the geology team, directing workflow and planning for the different workforce needs while ensuring proper levels of efficiency and productivity; Propose in collaboration with the exploration and the technical services departments exploration, conversion and delineation drilling programs or any specific program required; Plan, propose, recommend and follow-up budgets (yearly and life of mine) for the geology department; Ensure proper reporting of the different geology activities (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly); Contribute to economic preliminary studies, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, coordinating the work of your team with the work of other disciplines and producing technical reports; Provide and coordinate technical support in geology to operations; Assess, organize and approve the required departmental trainings; Keep your department at the forefront of new technologies, following the best practices in the mining industry; Respect and promote the standards of the company and the governmental policies and regulations at play.
