KIPP KC emphasizes academic excellence, strong teacher development, and supportive leadership as part of its broader mission</p><p>Master Teachers serve as content specialists, model KIPP KC academic strategy and expectations, and help ensure coherence in instruction, planning, and assessment across the grade level.</p><p>Key Responsibilities:</p><p>Instructional Excellence and Modeling</p><ul><li>Consistently deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that leads to strong student learning outcomes.</li><li>Model KIPP KC academic strategy, including lesson internalization, data-driven instruction, and high expectations for student engagement and achievement.</li><li>Open the classroom for observation, demonstration lessons, and peer learning opportunities.</li><li>Develop and refine exemplary unit and lesson plans aligned to school and network expectations.</li></ul><p>Teacher Mentorship and Coaching</p><ul><li>Mentor and coach a select group of teachers, typically 2–5, focused on instructional growth and student outcomes.</li><li>Provide regular, actionable feedback through observation, co-planning, and data analysis.</li><li>Support teachers in implementing high-quality curriculum and assessments with fidelity.</li><li>Build trust-based relationships that accelerate teacher development and retention.</li></ul><p>Grade Level Leadership</p><ul><li>Serve as grade level chair and lead grade-level team meetings focused on planning, data analysis, and instructional alignment.</li><li>Ensure consistency in pacing, rigor, and expectations across classrooms.</li><li>Facilitate collaborative planning cycles and assessment calibration.</li><li>Partner with school leadership to address grade-level trends, challenges, and opportunities.</li></ul><p>Content Expertise and Curriculum Leadership</p><ul><li>Serve as a content expert within the school, ensuring alignment to standards and best practices.</li><li>Support vertical alignment and collaboration across grade levels where applicable.</li><li>Analyze student data to identify gaps and adjust instructional strategies.</li><li>Contribute to school-wide and network-wide academic initiatives.</li></ul><p>Culture and Community</p><ul><li>Reinforce KIPP KC’s commitment to high expectations, strong relationships, and inclusive classrooms.</li><li>Support a positive, achievement-oriented school culture for students and staff.</li><li>Model professionalism, collaboration, and a growth mindset.</li></ul><p>Real World Learning Facilitation</p><ul><li>Deliver high-quality, rigorous instruction directly connected to authentic, real-world learning experiences that promote college persistence, career exploration, and workforce readiness for all KIPPsters.</li><li>Lead and facilitate transformative student experiences, including class-connected projects, professional mentorships, internships, and shadowing opportunities that bridge the classroom and the community.</li><li>Teach a minimum of one to two courses explicitly aligned with KIPP KC’s Real-World Learning initiatives, consistently integrating applied learning and interdisciplinary cognitive skills into daily instruction.</li><li>Actively collaborate with students, staff, and regional industry partners to design meaningful learning experiences that provide students with professional exposure and measurable real-world outcomes.</li><li>Organize and lead quarterly RWL Showcases at each grade level, providing a platform for KIPPsters to demonstrate their mastery, present their projects to community partners, and celebrate applied learning growth.</li><li>Use student performance data and feedback from industry partners to continuously refine RWL experiences, ensuring they meet KIPP KC’s standards for academic excellence and 21st-century skill development.</li></ul>",
