Description

The University of Pikeville seeks a compassionate and highly organized Clinical Care Coordinator to support patient care operations within the Tanner College of Dental Medicine. This position plays a vital role in coordinating patient services, supporting student providers, and ensuring an efficient and patient-centered clinical experience. The Clinical Care Coordinator works closely with faculty, students, and staff to facilitate comprehensive care delivery while maintaining high standards of professionalism, communication, and service. Responsibilities: Coordinate patient scheduling, appointments, and follow-up care to ensure continuity of care. Serve as a primary point of contact for patients, addressing questions, concerns, and care coordination needs. Assist in managing patient flow within the clinics to support efficient operations and minimize delays. Collaborate with faculty and student providers to ensure appropriate treatment planning and case progression. Maintain accurate and complete patient records in the electronic health record system. Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and required documentation prior to appointments. Assist with patient intake, including medical and dental history updates. Support patient education by reinforcing treatment plans, postoperative instructions, and preventive care guidance. Coordinate referrals to specialty care and track completion of referred services. Monitor patient compliance and recall systems to support ongoing care and clinic productivity. Ensure compliance with infection control, privacy, and regulatory standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support accreditation activities as needed. Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: Associate or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, certificate in dental assisting, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered. Prior experience in a dental or healthcare setting required. Familiarity with electronic health record systems. Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and patient care processes preferred. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of clinical operations and patient care coordination. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, students, faculty, and staff. Understanding of patient privacy and confidentiality requirements. Problem-solving skills and ability to address patient concerns professionally.
