    "description": "<h2></h2>\n<p>GFT is seeking an <strong>Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer</strong> to join our Geotechnical Team in our <strong>Audubon, PA</strong> office.  Joining the <strong>Geotechnical </strong>team at GFT means contributing to innovative geotechnical solutions for sustainable infrastructure. Our team excels in highway, transit, rail, structural and water resources projects. With a focus on integrating technology, sustainability, and compliance, we consider each project a chance to innovate and evolve to protect public health and enhance quality of life. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What you’ll be challenged to do:</strong></p>\n<p>The Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer will assist in planning and overseeing subsurface explorations and laboratory testing programs; performing analyses for transportation, facilities, water resources and other types of projects; and preparing sections of geotechnical reports.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em>Spring and December 2026 graduates are encouraged to apply! </em></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform geotechnical calculations and designs for various projects and facilities, including, but not limited to shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, settlement, tieback anchors, soil nails, slope stability and seepage studies.</li>\n <li>Assist in the preparation of written reports and documentation, geotechnical correspondence, design and construction drawings and specifications.</li>\n <li>Assist in the planning of subsurface explorations and laboratory testing investigations.</li>\n <li>Execute subsurface investigations in support of geotechnical design and evaluation efforts, including test boring inspection, site reconnaissance, and other field data collection activities as required.</li>\n <li>Provide specialty geo-construction observation during the construction phase of various projects.</li>\n <li>This position requires travel on an as-needed basis to other GFT offices, client offices, or project work sites and will include overnight/out-of-town travel.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2></h2>\n<p><strong>What you will bring to our firm:</strong><strong> </strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (with Geotechnical concentration) from an ABET-accredited institution.</li>\n <li>0-3 years of geotechnical experience with an emphasis in subsurface exploration and/or design and development of geotechnical deliverables including reports, drawings, and specifications.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated interest in geotechnical engineering through applied academic coursework, prior internships, or related work experience.</li>\n <li>Positive attitude, personal initiative and proactive approach to solving problems.</li>\n <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li>\n <li>Strong analytical, organizational, and report writing skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently and within a team environment.</li>\n <li>Excellent field observation and data collection/documentation skills.</li>\n <li>Must be able to physically work outdoors in all seasons including being capable of lifting 30 pounds and traversing steep slopes and rough terrain.</li>\n <li>Must have valid Driver’s License.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>What we prefer you bring:</strong><strong>  </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.</li>\n <li>Engineer-In-Traning (EIT) certification.</li>\n <li>Experience with common geotechnical software programs such as SLIDE, SLOPE/W, LPILE, APILE, GROUP, GRLWEAP, Settle3 and gINT or OpenGround.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<strong>Compensation:</strong>The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000.
