Rogers Group Inc. is currently seeking Utilities & Pipe Crew Laborer in the Huntsville AL / North Alabama operations area, Alabama SMA reporting to the General Manager of Construction & Superintendent. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.
Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating and meeting customer needs in 12 states with over 3,000 employees. We have 86 quarries and 56 asphalt plants across Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio.
Job Details:
Wages start at $24 per hour; may go higher based on verifiable experience Fulltime/Permanent Day Shift Weekend work may be required Overtime available along with extensive medical and retirement benefits Job Responsibilities:
Lay storm drainage, sanitary sewer mains and water mains Use hand tools as needed Assist with setting grade and driving grade stakes Use pipe laser/level Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in grading operations/utilities & pipe preferred Individual must be dedicated to working safely at all times Experienced working with GPS control preferred Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and nights when necessary Team player Valid driver’s license Additional: Distinguish and understand signals. Read and understand grade stakes. Use both hands and feet at the same time. Work in an environment with noise levels that may require hearing protection. Must be able to hear and understand commands from supervisors, warnings from fellow workers, and alarms on equipment. Able to use mechanic’s hand tools and tape measure. Able to crawl and climb on, over, under and inside construction equipment. Lift and carry objects and materials of various weights up to 100 pounds. Good vision, both close-up and long-distance, and ability to look forward, side to side, and toward the rear of equipment. Must have good reliable transportation to make it to and from work. Self-motivated individual - must be able to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision. Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises. Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required. Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration requirement. Must be Drug Free and able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and possess a Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
