Partnered with retirement homes and long-term care facilities across Nova Scotia, work is practically guaranteed.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Title: </span><span> Care Companion </span></p>\n<p><span>Pay: </span><span>$18</span></p>\n<p><span>Schedule: 8hours,</span><span>12 hour shifts, Casual, Day, evening and night shifts </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>We offer:</span><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Competitive pay</span></li>\n<li><span>Paid orientation and training </span></li>\n<li><span>Overtime pay</span></li>\n<li><span>Growth opportunities</span></li>\n<li><span>Flexible schedule </span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Provide items of comfort, sit with residents, and have purposeful conversations</span></li>\n<li><span>Supervise residents at all times</span></li>\n<li><span>Report on any issues or concerns related to the resident’s safety </span></li>\n<li><span>Escort residents around facility in wheelchairs and/or assist with mobility</span></li>\n<li><span>Intervene when needed to prevent physical harm to residents </span></li>\n<li><span>Promote a positive and safe environment for residents in the overall facility </span></li>\n<li><span>Maintain and assist with the privacy and dignity of each and every resident </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>High school diploma or equivalent</span></li>\n<li><span>Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check</span><br></li>\n<li><span>NVCI certification is Required</span></li>\n<li><span>Adaptability with an ability to act calmly and swiftly under pressure</span></li>\n<li><span>Strong observation skills </span></li>\n<li><span>Experience in geriatric is an asset </span></li>\n<li><span>Training and certification in crisis prevention or similar is an asset </span></li>\n<li><span>CCA and LPN Students are also welcome to apply</span></li>\n<li><span>Ex-CCA will also be considered for this position</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>We encourage individuals with a variety of different health and support service industries to apply! </span></p>",
