    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>Job Purpose/Description</strong></p><p><span data-path-to-node=\"3,1\" data-pasted=\"true\">The TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Student Ambassador serves as a key representative for the TRIO SSS Department of Education-funded project</span><span data-path-to-node=\"3,3\">.&nbsp;</span><span data-path-to-node=\"3,5\">The primary purpose of the role is to support students who are first-generation, low-income backgrounds, and/or have a disability</span><span data-path-to-node=\"3,7\">.&nbsp;</span><span data-path-to-node=\"3,9\">Ambassadors serve as the first point of contact in the TRIO SSS lounge, building community and helping students navigate campus culture and support services</span><span data-path-to-node=\"3,11\">.&nbsp;</span><span data-path-to-node=\"3,13\">Under the direction of the Director and professional staff, Ambassadors help foster a climate that values the social and cultural capital of eligible students</span><span data-path-to-node=\"3,15\">.</span><span style=\"white-space:pre;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;</span></p><p><strong>Job Duties</strong></p><ul><li>Lounge Management: Create a welcoming, student-centered environment and ensure the common space is clean, stocked, and promotes student engagement.</li><li>Peer Mentorship: Serve as a peer mentor to help students develop effective academic skills and practices.</li><li>Resource Navigation: Facilitate student connections to various campus and community resources.</li><li>Programming Support: Support cohort-building activities and participate in scheduled training sessions and staff meetings.</li><li>Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate student files, submit documentation in a timely manner, and ensure the confidentiality of protected information.</li><li>Advocacy: Assist professional staff in addressing institutional and overall barriers.</li></ul><p><strong>Required Qualifications:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><u>Must</u> be currently enrolled in the TRIO SSS program.</li><li>Academic Standing: Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0, in good academic standing, and meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress.</li><li>Enrollment: Registered for a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester with a timely degree completion plan.</li><li>Soft Skills: Demonstrated dependability, self-motivation, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Interpersonal Values: A genuine concern for the well-being of others and a commitment to maintaining helping relationships.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work with the populations SSS serves and the ability to articulate CSS values and SSS project goals.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Mentorship Experience: Previous experience in tutoring, coaching, or mentoring roles.</li><li>Shared Experience: A background that includes overcoming barriers similar to TRIO participants.</li></ul><p><strong>Special Instructions to Applicants</strong></p><ul><li>Federal work study eligibility is <strong>NOT&nbsp;</strong>required</li><li>Submit a Cover Letter and Resume by April 24th at 11:59 pm for consideration.</li></ul></div></div>\n",
