    "descriptionText": "Description\n\n Senior Database Developer \n\nAstor & Sanders Corporation (Astor) is an award winning IT solutions provider headquartered in McLean, VA seeking a Senior Database Developer with Appian experience . This is a full time and hybrid position.\n\n Roles & Responsibilities: \n\n Collaborate with internal business resources and technical teams/SMEs to understand data sources\n Design, build, maintain, and optimize databases\n Develop database objects including stored procedures, tables, views and table valued functions.\n Write complex queries involving common table expressions, window functions and subqueries for reporting.\n Translating business functions into conceptual, logical and physical data models.\n Optimize database tables including the application of triggers, indices and constraints.\n Enforce the successful application of any security standards necessary for the database, potentially including encryption at rest.\n Performance tuning and query optimization\n Data migration from legacy data base and perform transformations to the data to fit in the new data base\n Conduct Design reviews with the business analysts and content developers to create a proof of concept for the reports\n Support development teams in developing SQL queries\n\n Requirements\n\n Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other related discipline\n 5+ years’ experience as Database Developer/Programmer.\n 5+ years’ experience integrating data from disparate sources\n 5+ years’ experience in Agile development methodologies\n Strong understanding of MDM policies including cleansing, normalization and standardization.\n Demonstrated experience with Configuration Management tools\n Ability to design and create effective data models \n Proficient in developing stored procedures using PL/SQL and developing efficient views\n Experience with performance tuning\n Experience in Data Mapping and Data Migration\n Experience with databases such as Oracle and AWS RDS\n Understanding of data security and data access controls and design aspects\n Strong verbal and written communication skills\n Must demonstrate ability to work under high pressure in a complex multi threaded environment\n Demonstrated capability to learn, rapidly utilizing good problem solving skills\n Desire to learn and document new tools\n Prior experience architecting databases and warehouses for Appian BPMS solutions a plus\n\n Benefits\n\nAstor & Sanders Corporation (www.astor sanders.com) offers a unique, stimulating and challenging environment that fosters individual growth and rewards performance.
