Description Position Description: Would you like to have a career with a collaborative, diverse, and dynamic mining company? We have an exciting opportunity for you! Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Surveyor II or III to join our team. The successful candidate is responsible for providing a high level of accurate surveying to the underground mining group and other teams through leading, training, and developing the underground survey team; performing survey projects as directed; and perform other duties as assigned. Responsibilities: Provide a high-level of accurate surveying and sampling to the Mining Group as part open pit/underground mining operation Support operations through consistent and timely performance of the daily activities pertaining to the survey function, including the layout and maintenance of survey reference marks Ensure the regular review of mine survey processes and investigate, assess, and where appropriate, trial new methods or technology Ensure the proper use, maintenance, and calibration of survey equipment Reconcile weekly and monthly survey measures. The survey function is also be expected to work cross-functionally with operations and technical services to maintain visual aids to help communicate the short term mine plan and designs, through maintaining the various Deswik layers Manage and direct the activities of the surveying team, provide direction and coaching Ensure plans, budgets and schedules are sufficiently developed; management systems and processes are adequately applied; and personal attention is appropriately directed to ensure that important deadlines are met, and budget constraints are adhered to Qualifications: Proven safe work and attendance record required Tertiary education in survey principles and practices required Strong knowledge of surveying principles in underground mining, engineering construction, with surface experience preferred Minimum of eight (8) years extensive surveying work experience, preferably in an underground mining environment preferred Strong knowledge and proven use of current survey software and hardware required Well-developed problem-solving skills, with the ability to find solutions with a team or independently preferred Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills required Strong math and computer skills required Previous supervisory experience preferred Ability to work with other department and divisions effectively required Ability to walk on uneven ground in all weather conditions required Ability to perform all essential functions of this position required Formal recognition of underground surveying expertise required What We Can Offer You A comprehensive compensation package including a competitive medical, dental, and vision plan with national provider networks, a 401k retirement plan with employer contribution AND employer match, paid time off, company-sponsored medical clinics, company match share purchase program, and much more!
