    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>THE ROLE:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Industrial Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist serves as a resource to ensure all environmental, health and safety expectations are met as directed for the multiple U.S. sites designated. This individual provides leadership, coordination, and technical expertise in all areas of environmental, health and safety compliance to achieve excellence. This position will also work with all area locations to ensure safe working conditions and interact with team members and management to continually reinforce safe work practices while encouraging positive safety behavior. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Monitors Safety, Environmental and Health Programs (LOTO, Hot Work, Hazard Communication, Ladder Safety, Lift Truck Safety, Contractor Safety, etc.)</li>\n <li>Maintains compliance with local, state and federal agencies for EHS</li>\n <li>Provides, coordinates, or directs all required Safety Training including new hires.</li>\n <li>Assists in evaluations and improving safe work practices and conditions </li>\n <li>Chair Safety Committee Meetings on all required shifts</li>\n <li>Conducts First Responder meetings at a minimum of quarterly</li>\n <li>Implements and maintains the Near Miss program</li>\n <li>Assists in all Accident/Incident Investigations</li>\n <li>Assists in audits required by EPA, OSHA, Fire Marshall, ISO and Risk Lost Prevention </li>\n <li>Maintains EHS Calendar for timing of trainings and events</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT THE TEAM:</strong></p>\n<p>Are you ready to be part of an outstanding Facilities, Safety & Security team at our Herbalife Memphis Distribution Center in Memphis, Tennessee?  You would lead Safety, Environmental and Health Programs and have autonomy in making most decisions related to safety with input as needed from Sr. EHS Manager and management at the facilities.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>\n<p>none</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Job Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Skills</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to schedule and keep up with a fast-paced work environment, while maintaining clear communication and objectives throughout the team.</li>\n <li>Strong customer results orientated. </li>\n <li>Strong written and oral communication skills required.</li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal skills and a professional presence required.</li>\n <li>Effective meeting facilitation and presentation skills required</li>\n <li>Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under minimal supervision.</li>\n <li>Ability to function as an effective team member.</li>\n <li>Additional duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Experience: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>3 years experience plus a Bachelors Degree  or 4 additional years of relevant professional work experience in safety, environmental, health and hazardous waste in lieu of degree (minimum 7 years of work experience with HS diploma/GED equivalent)</li>\n <li>1 – 3 years’ experience working with vendors/contractors</li>\n <li>Experience with / Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Windows, Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Adobe)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Education: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree; may consider candidate with High School Diploma or equivalent plus additional 4 years of relevant work experience (for a total of 7 years in lieu of degree)</li>\n <li>OSHA 10- and 30-hours training certification</li>\n <li>OSHA 501 & 511 training </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Four-year college degree or two-year associate degree</li>\n <li>Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or MESH (Manager Environmental Safety & Health)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS: </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
