    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Job Overview</span></p>\n<p>Shields Asphalt Paving, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Dispatch Intern</span> to assist our dispatch and operations team. This position is a great opportunity for a student or entry-level candidate interested in construction operations, logistics, or fleet management to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.</p>\n<p>The Dispatch Intern will support daily trucking operations, help maintain records, and assist with coordination between drivers, plants, and project teams.</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with preparing daily trucking schedules using company-owned and broker trucks</li>\n<li>Support dispatching of triaxles through communication with drivers and brokers</li>\n<li>Monitor trucking activity using dispatch and GPS software</li>\n<li>Help identify inefficiencies and report observations to dispatch staff</li>\n<li>Assist in coordinating trucking needs with project managers and superintendents</li>\n<li>Help maintain driver and equipment records, including licensing, registrations, insurance cards, and maintenance logs</li>\n<li>Support compliance documentation related to DOT and safety regulations</li>\n<li>Assist with dispatch reports and data entry</li>\n<li>Communicate with asphalt and stone plants regarding product availability</li>\n<li>Assist with timecard entry and payroll support tasks<br></li>\n<li>Support fuel tracking and reporting</li>\n<li>Assist with organizing training records and safety documentation</li>\n<li>Perform general administrative and operational support tasks as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Requirements</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong organizational and time-management skills</li>\n<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks</li>\n<li>Good written and verbal communication skills</li>\n<li>Basic computer skills, including Excel and email</li>\n<li>Reliable transportation and willingness to work in an office environment</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Preferred Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interest in construction, logistics, or fleet operations</li>\n<li>Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in business, construction management, logistics, or a related field (not required)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">What You’ll Gain</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hands-on experience in dispatching and construction operations</li>\n<li>Exposure to GPS tracking, logistics software, and fleet management processes</li>\n<li>Opportunity to learn about DOT compliance and trucking operations</li>\n<li>Potential opportunity for future full-time employment based on performance</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>If you’re interested in learning how trucking and logistics support major construction projects, we encourage you to apply and join our team.</p>",
