    "description": "<p><!--StartFragment --><strong>Camp Season - Summer 2026</strong></p>\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"color:#c0392b;\"><strong>Job Summary</strong></span></p>\r\n\r\n<p>Serves as a lifeguard for all camp waterfront operations; provides constant surveillance of waterfront activities; maintains the cleanliness of the pool and lake area; monitors and controls the chemical levels of pool water, ensuring proper levels are maintained at all times; prepares pool records accurately and completely; plans swimming activities at camp&#39;s pool and waterfront.</p>\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"color:#c0392b;\"><strong>Essential Functions</strong></span></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Provides emergency lifesaving assistance to swimmers; performs lifesaving C.P.R. and first aid in accordance with certified practices and procedures; contacts emergency medical assistance when needed; stays with victims until emergency medical assistance takes over care of the victim.</li>\r\n\t<li>Ensures the camp staff and campers are aware of and adhere to safety and educational procedures in boating by assisting in the implementation of staff training for boating, training other staff on their boating responsibilities, and ensuring that campers and staff follow safety procedures for boating.</li>\r\n\t<li>Provides constant surveillance of pool and waterfront activities to help prevent and manage injuries.</li>\r\n\t<li>Evaluate the aquatic abilities of campers and staff.</li>\r\n\t<li>Teaches swim classes as assigned.</li>\r\n\t<li>Maintains the cleanliness of the pool water; vacuums the bottom of the pool surface; scrubs the side walls; backwashes the filter system; checks the filter gauges and regulates the water level and temperature of the pool.</li>\r\n\t<li>Cleans restrooms, deck, baby pool, and grounds.</li>\r\n\t<li>Monitors waterfront activities, including swimming, boating, canoeing, and other similar activities.</li>\r\n\t<li>Participates enthusiastically as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights, and other all-camp activities and camp functions.</li>\r\n\t<li>Maintains personal living quarters in a neat, clean, and ready condition for inspection.</li>\r\n\t<li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"color:#c0392b;\"><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></span></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Ability to meet attendance requirements.</li>\r\n\t<li>Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.</li>\r\n\t<li>Ability to swim and perform lifesaving activities.</li>\r\n\t<li>Some physical requirements of the Camp Lifeguard &ndash; Aquatics/Lakefront position include endurance, which involves climbing, standing, bending, stooping, and stretching.</li>\r\n\t<li>Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity are required to manipulate lifeguard equipment and perform various activities.</li>\r\n\t<li>Requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"color:#c0392b;\"><strong>Working Conditions</strong></span></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering a program at the available facility.</li>\r\n\t<li>Operate in daily exposure to the sun, heat, and varying environmental conditions.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p><!--EndFragment --></p>\r\n",
