We have vacant CL1, CL2, and CL3 positions&nbsp;</b>in Portland and Gorham. The Facilities Management department is core to USM’s ability to deliver an exceptional and affordable educational experience to students in Maine and across the country. This is an opportunity to be a part of this exciting mission – not to mention an opportunity for you to advance your education with our tuition waiver program!</p>\n<p><b><u>Pay:</u></b>&nbsp;<br><b>Career Level 1</b>: $23.77 per hour<br><b>Career Level 2</b>: $27.60 per hour&nbsp;<br><b>Career Level 3</b>: $29.92 per hour&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><b>About the Position:&nbsp;</b></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">The Mechanical Specialist HVAC performs duties related to maintaining the operations of an assigned mechanical system by performing established preventative maintenance, troubleshooting operational issues, installing systems, and inspecting systems.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><b>Essential Functions Include (but not limited to):</b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Installs, maintains and repairs heating, ventilating, air conditioning and steam distribution equipment and systems to optimize energy use.</li>\n <li>Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, iPad, and diagnostic hardware to perform work.</li>\n <li>Installs, maintains and repairs computerized electronic pneumatic and digital direct control devises related to HVAC and heat control.</li>\n <li>Requisitions material and supplies from stockroom, calls vendors to discuss needs for parts and supplies, and recommends purchases and suppliers.</li>\n <li>Maintains electronic/pneumatic testing equipment.</li>\n <li>Responding to a full range of calls for service in assigned skilled trade.</li>\n <li>Coordinating repairs and maintenance with University departments and other skilled trades departments to schedule work.</li>\n <li>May perform maintenance in multiple skilled trades</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b>Requirements:</b></p>\n<ul>\n <li><b>Career Level 1</b>: High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) with completion of an applicable apprenticeship program and/or sufficient training necessary to perform the essential responsibilities of the position AND one year of related experience.</li>\n <li><b>Career Level 2</b>: High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) with sufficient experience to obtain appropriate certification or license AND three years related experience. Typical licensure at this level is a Journeyman and/or Propane &amp; Natural Gas Tech.</li>\n <li><b>Career Level 3</b>: High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) with sufficient experience to obtain appropriate certification or license AND four years related experience.
