The Material Inspector I will be responsible for weighing and grading materials in order to ensure accurate shipping/receiving and inventory records. The Materials Inspector I position requires someone with the ability to multitask, function in a high-volume and fast-paced atmosphere, work efficiently with multiple company departments, excellent communication, detail-oriented, great organizational skills ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. This role is located in <strong>Granite City, IL,</strong> and will be fully on-site. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Hourly Pay Range</strong>: $22/hr - $24/hr</p>\n<p><strong>Work Schedule</strong>: Mon - Fri 7:00 am – 3:30 pm</p>\n<p><strong>Pay Schedule</strong>: Weekly</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>At Wieland, we recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be based upon various factors unique to each individual that may include but are not limited to years of experience, industry knowledge, technical skills, education, qualifications, etc. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Materials Inspector I </strong><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Coordinate unloading of materials and ensure accuracy of material weights.</li>\n <li>Coordinate loading of material with proper weight distribution.</li>\n <li>Ability to give clear instructions to other team members.</li>\n <li>Basic ability to navigate within the company database.</li>\n <li>Proficient in receiving or shipping of domestic and international materials.</li>\n <li>Initiative to develop materials knowledge using the tools and resources provided.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with other departments to achieve company goals.</li>\n <li>Maintain the cleanliness and accuracy of scale equipment and the dock areas.</li>\n <li>Complete daily reports, maintain logs, spreadsheets, and other records, as assigned.</li>\n <li>Other duties assigned with flexibility to work in other departments as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Materials Inspector I  Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to work independently and as a team, in a safe and efficient manner, and to follow safety policies and procedures.</li>\n <li>Adherence to health and safety regulations - Ability to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. Hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, earplugs, steel-toed shoes, gloves, full body harnesses, or other protective equipment as required by the location and work performed. Some tasks may require work in confined spaces. </li>\n <li>Use of a respirator may be required for certain tasks. Must be medically cleared, fit-tested, and qualified to wear a respirator when applicable. Must maintain appropriate personal grooming to ensure an effective respirator seal. </li>\n <li>Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, or equivalent.</li>\n <li>Knowledge and experience working with computerized scale systems and other similar software and equipment.</li>\n <li>Strong communication skills </li>\n <li>Self-motivated person with problem-solving skills</li>\n <li>Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.</li>\n <li>Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.</li>\n <li>Attentive to detail and alert at all times to ensure safety.</li>\n <li>Maintains safety as high priority in all aspects of responsibility.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands:</strong></p>\n<p>The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
