    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong><u>Purpose Statement:</u></strong> To satisfy the site's electrical needs including the installation, maintenance, and repair of the plant equipment in a safe, timely, and craftsman-like manner.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Technician works a 12-hour rotating shift schedule. </p>\n<p>The E&I technician works in team of 12 (from various shifts).</p>\n<p><strong>The E&I tech will work onsite, in-person at: </strong><strong>3600 Discovery Drive, Chester, VA 23836</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Skills & Knowledge</u></strong></p>\n<p><strong>Required</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>3+ years’ experience maintaining and repairing Electrical & Instrumentation Equipment in Industrial / Manufacturing environments (in conjunction with required training/certification)</li>\n <li>Experience reading schematics</li>\n <li>Experience using test equipment and hand tools.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong><u>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</u></strong>: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Checks and performs preventive maintenance on motor control center equipment; repairs or replaces motors as needed.</li>\n <li>Operates computer keyboard daily to input data into the Maintenance Management System (SAP), such as time and material charged to a work order, and historical equipment data. Technician inputs his/her time into the payroll system.  Uses computer to research and track down needed parts, to input work time and to receive HR information.</li>\n <li>Acts as a resource for operations areas daily to provide an understanding of system function.</li>\n <li>Maintains calibration records, job procedures and manuals regularly.</li>\n <li>Performs ISO calibration on strain gauges, yardage counters, temperature controllers, etc. Calibrates gages, controllers, transmitters and gage system as required; calibrates substation breakers occasionally; coordinates calibration of test equipment.</li>\n <li>Overhauls production and process equipment on film lines, polymer lines, slitting machines and cooling towers.</li>\n <li>Inspects equipment and repairs and/or modifies equipment using hand tools such wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, hammers, wire stripper and lug crimpers.</li>\n <li>Repairs electrical equipment such as motors, generators, AC and DC drives, Motor Control Centers, Power distribution panels, etc.</li>\n <li>Tests, troubleshoots and repairs electronic equipment and electrical circuits daily by using specialized instruments such as multi-meters, wiggies, clamp-on ammeters, oscilloscopes and frequency meters.</li>\n <li>Troubleshoots process control computer systems, including but not limited to Reliance DCS, Modicon & Siemens PLC, Control Logix, using portable computers; troubleshoot temperature, level, and pressure control instruments processors; troubleshoot AC or DC variable speed drives and line speed control systems as needed.</li>\n <li>Upgrades drawings to reflect “as-built” or modifications. Upgrades schematics from old system to newer technologies.</li>\n <li>Follows safe work practices as set forth by DuPont S31G and NFPA 70E.</li>\n <li>Uses lock, tag and try procedure before beginning work on equipment and/or systems.</li>\n <li>Maintains Corona treater by using cleaning technique and setting proper gaps.</li>\n <li>Designs and fabricates mounting and tubing connections as needed.</li>\n <li>Pulls, unplugs and dips tubes using hand tools as needed.</li>\n <li>Handles and properly disposes of mercury as needed.</li>\n <li>Repairs or replaces hydraulic devices such as regulators, relief and flow valves.</li>\n <li>Monitors setting of brushes on motor commutators for proper setting.</li>\n <li>Repairs D.C. generators; repairs and replaces Avtron speed control.</li>\n <li>Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.</li>\n <li>Troubleshoots equipment to detect imperfections.</li>\n <li>Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.</li>\n <li>Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.</li>\n <li>Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.</li>\n <li>Expedites equipment and parts; coordinates equipment for off-plant repairs and sets up parts for stores.</li>\n <li>Conducts ISO audits in maintenance area.</li>\n <li>Contributes to planning and scheduling of shutdowns.</li>\n <li>Troubleshoots and maintains pneumatic instrumentation, including rebuilding automatic control valves, and pneumatic or electronic controllers.</li>\n <li>Performs High Voltage (13,200 Vac) switching for Substation PM and repair work.</li>\n <li>Performs simple maintenance and electrical tasks such as mounting objects (cabinets, pictures, etc.) to wall and relamping assigned areas, repairing electrical switches and outlets.</li>\n <li>Perform Capital Project work.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Non-essential Duties and Responsibilities </strong>include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p>\n<p>None noted.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of or be able to learn SAP plant maintenance software; move around in site's and company's Intranet; and communicate through e-mail software such as Lotus Notes.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong><u>Education Required</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or GED</li>\n <li><strong>One or more of the following is required</strong>\n  <ul>\n   <li><strong>Associate's degree in Instrumentation or Engineering Technology with </strong>3+ years of experience maintaining and repairing Electrical & Instrumentation Equipment in Industrial / Manufacturing environments </li>\n   <li>Or<strong> Completed apprenticeship program with</strong> 3+ years of experience maintaining and repairing Electrical & Instrumentation Equipment in Industrial / Manufacturing environments </li>\n   <li>Or 7+ years of experience maintaining and repairing electrical and instrumentation equipment in a manufacturing environment </li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Skills & Knowledge</u></strong></p>\n<p><strong>Required</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>3+ years’ experience maintaining and repairing Electrical & Instrumentation Equipment in Industrial / Manufacturing environments (in conjunction with required training/certification)</li>\n <li>Experience reading schematics</li>\n <li>Experience using test equipment and hand tools.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferred</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with Automated Technologies – troubleshooting in an industrial/manufacturing environment </li>\n <li>Experience and knowledge of DCS, DC Motors – troubleshooting/repairing </li>\n <li>Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and computers – troubleshooting </li>\n <li>Process Control & Monitoring</li>\n <li>Knowledgeable in Electrical Safety and National Electric Code </li>\n <li>Knowledgeable in the General process of filmmaking & Polymers </li>\n <li>Experience using plant maintenance software / ERP (enterprise resource planning) software such as SAP</li>\n <li>Experience using Lotus Notes</li>\n <li>E&I experience in the military is a plus</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Certificates, Licenses, Registrations</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to pass electrical training classes.</li>\n <li>Must participate in regular refresher courses as they are scheduled and assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Accountabilities:</u></strong></p>\n<li>Be accountable for self, teammates, and others working in the area.
