Collins is an ENR Top 500 Design Firm. We have opportunities for you.
Collins is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Professional Engineer for the Regional Manager role in our Salt Lake City, Utah, office.
The Regional Manager is responsible for the successful operation and overall management of the office, including technical, business development, financial, and administrative functions, in support of company goals and policies.
The position requires a high level of ethical and professional conduct in technical and managerial activities. This position reports to a division manager.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Business Development/Marketing
Identifies and cultivates new business opportunities and client relationships.
Prepares an annual comprehensive business plan addressing both short-term and long-term goals.
Develops, supervises, and monitors client relationship strategies to maintain meaningful relationships with all clients.
Submits monthly marketing status reports.
Implements client focused systems and processes to support regional business development goals.
Attends meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
Financial
Achieves all regional performance goals including revenue, profit, utilization, multiplier, overhead, staffing, and business development.
Develops the annual office business plan/budget.
Oversees and monitors project budgets and has overall responsibility for the profitability of all projects in the office.
Prepares pre-qualifications and proposals, including cost estimates, contract negotiations, staffing plans, and profitability and quality assessments.
Maintains fiscal monitoring utilizing corporate guidelines and systems to ensure accounts receivable, accounts payable, project budgets, and contracts meet company goals.
Manages project schedules and ensures timely completion of projects.
Produces interoffice agreements for their projects within the company.
Management/Technical
Supervises office staff and is responsible for technical training and career development of the team.
Develops and implements communication processes and systems to ensure effective communication with staff, clients, and corporate office.
Ensures that employees are aware of the corporate strategic plan, policies, and procedures, including all short- and long-term goals.
Identifies, recruits, and retains qualified technical and administrative personnel; monitors staff performance and implements necessary personnel changes.
Reviews and approves all employees’ expense reports and timesheets.
Serves as a senior project manager or senior project engineer on complex projects and as a designated client contact.
Maintains active involvement in technical societies such as ACEC.
Publishes engineering papers and/or articles.
Safety
Has overall safety responsibility for their office.
Ensures that staff needing specialized training in health and safety procedures and practices receives such training and that safety is discussed as an important aspect of their work.
Knows how to perform their duties safely.
Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year university and a minimum of 20 years’ experience preferred. Management and business development experience preferred.
Maintains competency in and serves as major firm resource in field of expertise.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) and/or Structural Engineer (S.E.) certification required.

This position reports to a division manager. \\n\\n \\n\\nTypical Duties and Responsibilities: \\n\\nBusiness Development/Marketing \\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tIdentifies and cultivates new business opportunities and client relationships. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tPrepares an annual comprehensive business plan addressing both short-term and long-term goals. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tDevelops, supervises, and monitors client relationship strategies to maintain meaningful relationships with all clients. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tSubmits monthly marketing status reports. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tImplements client focused systems and processes to support regional business development goals. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tAttends meetings or events outside of normal working hours. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\nFinancial \\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tAchieves all regional performance goals including revenue, profit, utilization, multiplier, overhead, staffing, and business development. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tDevelops the annual office business plan/budget. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tOversees and monitors project budgets and has overall responsibility for the profitability of all projects in the office. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tPrepares pre-qualifications and proposals, including cost estimates, contract negotiations, staffing plans, and profitability and quality assessments. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tMaintains fiscal monitoring utilizing corporate guidelines and systems to ensure accounts receivable, accounts payable, project budgets, and contracts meet company goals. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tManages project schedules and ensures timely completion of projects. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tProduces interoffice agreements for their projects within the company. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\nManagement/Technical \\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tSupervises office staff and is responsible for technical training and career development of the team. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tDevelops and implements communication processes and systems to ensure effective communication with staff, clients, and corporate office. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tEnsures that employees are aware of the corporate strategic plan, policies, and procedures, including all short- and long-term goals. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tIdentifies, recruits, and retains qualified technical and administrative personnel; monitors staff performance and implements necessary personnel changes. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tReviews and approves all employees’ expense reports and timesheets. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tServes as a senior project manager or senior project engineer on complex projects and as a designated client contact. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tMaintains active involvement in technical societies such as ACEC. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tPublishes engineering papers and/or articles. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\nSafety \\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tHas overall safety responsibility for their office. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tEnsures that staff needing specialized training in health and safety procedures and practices receives such training and that safety is discussed as an important aspect of their work. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tKnows how to perform their duties safely. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tOther duties may be assigned. \\n\\t\\n\\n\\n \\n\\n*Relocation is available\\n\\n Click HERE to see the variety of benefits Collins has to offer.\\nQualificationsEducation and/or Experience: \\n\\n\\n\\t\\n\\tBachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year university and a minimum of 20 years’ experience preferred.
