Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Trade Assistant</span> to join our <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Palmerston North team</span>.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>We are seeking motivated team players who want to grow with us, are forward-thinking, and enjoy working in a supportive and safety-focused team environment. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality workmanship while maintaining strong health and safety standards.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About the Role</span></p>\n<p>This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company with long-term career prospects. The role will suit an experienced Trade Assistant who can consistently deliver quality work, support field crews, and meet customer and company expectations. This role has the potential to lead on to a <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Line Mechanic or Cable Jointing apprenticeship</span> for the right candidate.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Tasks &amp; Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist Line Mechanics and Cable Jointers with the installation of electrical equipment in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations</li>\n<li>Assist with excavator operations, including trenching, minor civil works, ducting, and cable installation</li>\n<li>Operate power tools, hand tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively</li>\n<li>Participate in site and company meetings as required</li>\n<li>Build and maintain positive working relationships within the wider team</li>\n<li>Proactively communicate any issues that may impact the successful completion of tasks</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Health &amp; Safety Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take reasonable care to ensure your actions or inactions do not cause harm to yourself or others</li>\n<li>Actively participate in all health and safety processes and initiatives</li>\n<li>Follow all safe work procedures and instructions</li>\n<li>Correctly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times</li>\n<li>Report incidents, accidents, near misses, and hazards promptly</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What We’re Looking For</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Current <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">NZ Driver Licence (Class 2 preferable)</span></li>\n<li>Physically fit and enjoys outdoor project work</li>\n<li>Legal right to work in New Zealand (NZ Citizen or Resident)</li>\n<li>Strong aptitude for civil and electrical work</li>\n<li>Motivation to transition into an <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">apprenticeship</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Why Join NPE-Tech?</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong pipeline of work and long-term stability</li>\n<li>Supportive team culture with a strong safety focus</li>\n<li>Opportunities for training, development, and career progression</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Only NZ Citizens and Residents currently residing within New Zealand will be shortlisted for this role.</p>",
