Our rich diversity of people and ideas makes us a stronger, more innovative organization.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are currently seeking an experienced mechanic to perform inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair on our fleet of on-road and off-road vehicles and equipment in and around NY state.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary:</strong></p>\n<p>This is a field-based, on-site position and will require daily travel to job sites. </p>\n<p>Current job sites are: Mayfield NY, Lowville NY, Middletown NY and Sidney NY.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The experienced Field Mechanic will perform repairs and maintenance of fleet vehicles outdoors in the field and at construction sites. Our fleet includes pick-ups, bucket trucks, trailers, digger derricks, dozers, trenchers, excavators, backhoes, loaders, generators, and other related utility construction equipment.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Starting hourly rate is $34.86-$41.43 based on experience (with CDL-A)</p>\n<p>Requires 100% travel (travel expenses are reimbursed)</p>\n<p>Company service truck is provided</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform routine maintenance, service, and repair of fleet vehicles </li>\n <li>Document PM maintenance reports & equipment repair logs\n  <ul>\n   <li>Utilize manufacturer and aftermarket parts and service software</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Install and maintain telematics equipment such as Zonar</li>\n <li>Repair construction type fleet equipment and vehicles (including aerial device repairs).</li>\n <li>Ability to work with minimum supervision\n  <ul>\n   <li>Willingness to travel and work in all kinds of weather</li>\n   <li>Diagnose and repair diesel and gas engines</li>\n   <li>Locate drivetrain concerns and repair as necessary</li>\n   <li>Inspect, service, and replace chassis components</li>\n   <li>Pinpoint hydraulic system malfunctions and repair as necessary</li>\n   <li>Service and repair air, electric, and hydraulic brake systems</li>\n   <li>Perform electrical and electronic system diagnosis and repair</li>\n   <li>Weld and fabricate as needed</li>\n   <li>Perform minor body panel repair</li>\n   <li>Verify vehicle/equipment repairs</li>\n   <li>Willingness to work overtime when required, sometimes with short notice</li>\n   <li>Maintaining a clean driving record</li>\n   <li>Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor</li>\n   <li>Follow all company policies and procedures</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must have at least three years’ experience working as a mechanic or service technician</li>\n <li>Good analytical skills</li>\n <li>Good verbal and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Self-motivated</li>\n <li>Ford, Peterbilt, John Deere, Altec, Terex, Versalift, International, CAT and Vermeer experience preferred</li>\n <li>Class\" A\" CDL required.  Fifth wheel endorsement a plus</li>\n <li>DOT inspection experience</li>\n <li>Ability to walk long distances over uneven and wet surfaces</li>\n <li>Requires experience repairing diesel engines and hydraulic systems </li>\n <li>Requires experience repairing air brakes; certification is preferred but not required</li>\n <li>Experienced in welding and small fabrication</li>\n <li>Ability to lift 50 lbs</li>\n <li>Safely operate hand and power tools/equipment</li>\n <li>Verifiable, working knowledge of medium/heavy truck and utility equipment service</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>H&M Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities, Females, Protected Veterans, and Individuals with Disabilities</strong></p>",
