    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>The Trailer Mechanic performs required inspections and maintenance (corrective and preventative ) on trailers and equipment within planned time tolerances to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency throughout the life cycle of the fleet.</p>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on all trailers, converter dollies, light-duty vehicles, and any other company-owned equipment in accordance with all federal, state, and local legal and regulatory agencies (includes all state-required inspections and frequencies)</li>\n <li>Conduct all levels of preventive maintenance functions, such as regular servicing of trailers. Including trailer repairs and equipment inspections.</li>\n <li>Electrical diagnostics, repair, and replacement.</li>\n <li>Utilize the company’s maintenance system to create/maintain/complete work orders and vehicle maintenance records.</li>\n <li>Lead and/or assist with the physical parts purchasing,&nbsp;inventory, receiving, and proper charge out of parts to work orders</li>\n <li>Performs general cleaning and repair duties</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>4 years of experience in fleet trailer maintenance and repair (up to 2 years can be credited for technical training/schooling)</li>\n <li>Knowledge and understanding of FMCSRs and DOT Compliance</li>\n <li>Air brake certification&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software for OEMs and component manufacturers</li>\n <li>The technician must provide all hand tools (1/2” drive or under) necessary to perform maintenance. The company will provide diagnostic equipment, major shop tools, and a secure toolbox.</li>\n <li>ASE certification preferred (not required)</li>\n <li>Current valid driver's license (CDL Class A preferred but not required)</li>\n <li>Ability to lift 50 pounds or more&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ability to work outside in inclement weather conditions</li>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent required</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The pay range is $20 - $26 per hour.
