About the Company: The Bruery is a boutique craft brewery located in Orange County, CA. The company goes to market under three brand names; The Bruery, Bruery Terreux, and Offshoot Beer Co, each offering a high quality, unique offering. The Bruery specializes in barrel aged and experimental ales, Bruery Terreux is focused on innovative wild and sour ales, and Offshoot Brewing Co. is the company’s newest brand that focuses on a rotational hop-forward offering. About the Role: A Packaging Operator contributes to the production operations of The Bruery by working in a semi autonomous packaging team. This role ensures that quality is being maintained throughout the entire packaging process and that all procedures are being followed, with a strong emphasis on safety. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Packaging of beers into cans, bottles, or kegs following all standard operating procedures. Operate all aspects of packaging including CIP, filler operation, quality checks, palletizing, and movement of finished materials. Occasionally working at other Bruery facilities when needed. Obtaining the proper authorization to package a beer. Documentation of key quality parameters and verifying beer meets specifications. Clean in place of bright tanks, fillers, product lines, and any applicable equipment Keg and Jockey Box cleaning and maintenance. Prepping equipment beforehand to effectively utilize their shift teams time Ability to troubleshoot packaging equipment and communicate issues to management and maintenance department. Keeping production areas clean and organized at all times. Train new packaging employees proper machine operation and safety procedures. Communicating with management and other packaging team members on the status of packaging. Organize, track, and audit inventory of finished beer, bulk bottles, cans, corrugate, crowns, labels, and all other packaging supplies. Tracking package quality of finished beer (dissolved oxygen, carbon dioxide, total packaged oxygen, etc.) Building The Bruery’s brands through promotional activities (festivals, beer dinners, etc.). Other brewery-related tasks that may require assistance. Any other duties delegated to by a supervisor/manager. Essential Requirements Ability to follow directions and work independently in a manner that will ensure the employee and teams safety. Understanding of cleaning and sanitation requirements in the food and beverage industry. Strong mechanical aptitude. Organized and accurate record keeping. Able to frequently lift heavy materials (up to 55 lbs) shoulder height. Ability to work in a non-temperature controlled environment, handling of hazardous materials, and exposure to complex machinery. Ability to work in confined spaces and refrigerated, damp and wet environments. Ability to work on a ladder periodically. Be able to operate a forklift, or become forklift certified within 30 days with training OT may be required, including occasional weekend work. The Bruery is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
