Description

Description Position Overview Mountain Capital Partners is seeking a full-time AI Engineer to join our internal technology team in Durango, Colorado. The AI Engineer will design, build, and maintain internal software applications with a focus on artificial intelligence and data-driven tools. This role will own production systems end to end, including the architecture, development, deployment, and ongoing support of tools used across the organization. This is a hybrid or on-site position based in Durango, Colorado. Housing is not provided. The successful candidate will be responsible for relocating to the Durango area if not already local. Responsibilities Develop and maintain internal applications that support operations across the organization, including natural language query interfaces, automated reporting tools, and workflow automation. Build and maintain data pipelines and integrations between business systems, including Paycom, Voya, point of sale platforms, and the corporate data warehouse. Design, build, and maintain analytics dashboards and operational tools for use by Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, and resort operations teams. Contribute to architecture and technology selection decisions regarding the use of artificial intelligence across the company. Mentor the summer intern and future members of the technology team as the team grows. Qualifications Required Qualifications Minimum of three years of professional software engineering experience in a production environment. Demonstrated proficiency with current AI-assisted software development tools. Public examples of completed software projects available for review. Full stack software development experience, including backend development in Python or Node.js, frontend development in React or a similar framework, and strong SQL skills. Experience building and maintaining data pipelines, APIs, and integrations with third-party business systems. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. The position involves daily interaction with non-technical staff and company leadership. Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Preferred Qualifications Experience deploying large language model applications, including retrieval-augmented generation, agent-based systems, or function calling, in a production environment. Background in analytics, business intelligence, or internal tools development at a small or growing company. Prior experience working on a small team with limited process overhead.
