Apply now and energize your career with a true leader in the global energy transformation.</p><p></p><div></div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><p><b>The Salt Lake City Operating Control Center</b> (ROCC) is currently seeking a<b> DG (Distributed Generation) Control Room Operator</b> to monitor the operation of a large renewable asset Distributed Generation portfolio across various US regions, particularly, California and the North East.  The current portfolio is mainly comprises of PV sites and a few Solar &#43; Battery installation.  Under limited supervision of a Control Room Team Lead, the DG Control Room Operator will monitor sites, site equipment, dispatch maintenance support, and analyze electronic data. In the future, there will be cross-training opportunities to provide control room services on the utility scale sites.</p><p>  <br />The successful candidate will have experience in control room operations, the power (or similar) industry, and demonstrated ability to work in high performing teams under limited supervision.  </p><p><br /> This position involves remotely monitoring sites in various states from our ROCC located in <u>Salt Lake Cit, UT</u>.  This position typically works a standard 8-hr shift, M-F; and requires weekend support as needed.</p><p></p><p> Oversee the day-to-day operations of a growing fleet of DG-scale solar assets </p><ul><li><p>Monitor portfolio via SCADA system for asset faults, errors, alarms, site underperformance and notify/dispatch appropriate parties if faults cannot be reset/cleared. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Communicate with and dispatch field O&amp;M personnel for troubleshooting site equipment. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Coordinate outage support and energy isolation with field O&amp;M personnel. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Interact frequently with cross-functional teams across the AES organization and with other external organizations. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Create and track corrective maintenance tickets in AES’ work management systems (CMMS). </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Contribute to the development of operating procedures incorporating all requirements from PPA’s, IA’s and any relevant Functional Entities. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Assist in the onboarding and integration of new generation assets. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Participate in safety activities including weather monitoring and routine &amp; emergency response communications. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Interact with customers and Performance Engineers on issues related to asset performance and reliability. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Record information such as fault time, fault code, and operational actions taken while on shift. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Maintain logbooks within compliance with industry standards and best practices. </p></li></ul><p>  </p><p><b>Skills and Qualifications:</b> </p><ul><li><p>2&#43; years’ experience in control center operations, preferably in the power industry </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>2&#43; years in the Power Generation (or similar) Industry (Power Plant or Renewable Operations, I&amp;C, Field Maintenance, Electrician, Power Plant operations, or Military Operations) </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Familiarity with electrical substation safety protocol, equipment, and operations </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Competency in plant processes, electrical and SCADA systems </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Ability to strictly follow operating procedures, without exception </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Familiarity with the maintenance and operations of solar and Battery Energy Storage generation assets </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to manage critical situations </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Willingness to undergo regular training to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Reliable, punctual and capable of being trusted with significant taskings while maintaining integrity while unsupervised </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Ability to thrive within a small, agile and fast-growing team </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams) </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Able to work effectively under pressure with multiple priorities. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Ability to function in a high-paced environment </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Ability to remain calm and collective during stressful situations </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Experience with documentation control systems: SharePoint, Docushare, SAP, etc. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Experience creating, editing and documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS). </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Ability to make independent decisions, adapt to responsibility, and follow direct instructions. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Experience with data acquisition and SCADA is a plus. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Ability to establish trust through building relationships and demonstration of capabilities. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Familiarity with LOTO practices, Electric Switchgear switching, &amp;
