maintains awareness of dignity, comfort, and safety needs of patient</li><li>Always provides excellent patient care; practices strong nursing autonomy in patient care while coordinating care with an ED MD</li><li>Triages patients while obtaining vital signs, a thorough history, and a nursing assessment</li><li>Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation and understanding, and reduce apprehension</li><li>Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques</li><li>Delegates within scope-of-practice to other clinical staff; manages patient flow within the center by effectively communicating with all disciplines</li><li>Prepares equipment and aids provider during treatment and examination of patient</li><li>Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions; notifies provider of patient condition as well as any changes to it, reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents</li><li>Responds to life saving situations according to nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols;
