    "description": "<h2>About Us</h2>\n<p></p>\n<p>We perform installation, rigging, millwrighting, and maintenance for manufacturing and industrial markets across the Southeast.</p>\n<h2>Job Summary</h2>\n<p>Southern Industrial is looking for a Safety Director for our Greensboro region.  This position will be responsible for ensuring the highest possible level of operational safety and asset protection across designated Branch, reducing and controlling SIC exposures to injury and accident risks and perils, while ensuring operational regulatory compliance with all appropriate state and federal regulations.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>#SIC</strong></p>\n<p>#LI-SW1</p>\n<p><strong>#LI-onsite</strong></p>\n<h2>Essential Duties & Responsibilities</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Plans, directs and manages all Safety activities performed from designated Branch office with direction from Corporate Management.</li>\n <li>Strengthens & develops site operating safety professionals.</li>\n <li>Conducts Health and Safety Training Programs and maintains all records as needed.</li>\n <li>Directs and conducts site facility walk-through inspections, safety audits and documentation reviews relative to OSHA, DOT, EPA, DHS regulations and reports findings to Corporate Management.</li>\n <li>Provides the leadership to develop and implement site-specific programs, plans and procedures for meeting and exceeding Company health, safety & environmental performance goals.</li>\n <li>Develops and delivers tools to assist Branch and satellite locations in complying with federal and state regulations and Company policies.</li>\n <li>Interacts with Branch Management to develop mechanisms for Project Management involvement in all aspects of Branch and site safety.</li>\n <li>Coordinates with all functional areas within the Branch to assure safety, security, physical and environmental issues and procedures are fully understood and executed.</li>\n <li>Works with the recruiting department to assist in hiring safety professionals as needed.</li>\n <li>Maintains Branch compliance with Corporate crisis management and business continuity programs.</li>\n <li>Investigates the causes of all accidents and injuries, and completes reports as required. Uses Accidents/near misses, etc. as training to help prevent future occurrences.</li>\n <li>Coordinates the scheduling and participation of the Branch safety committee. Acts as an advisor for the committee.</li>\n <li>Conducts new employee & project orientation and Health and Safety training with all employees and subcontractor employees.</li>\n <li>Inventories and maintains appropriate quantities of all necessary safety equipment and PPE.</li>\n <li>Assist safety management on health and safety issues including, but not limited to, Workers Compensation, OSHA, MSHA, near miss, injury reporting, and investigation.</li>\n <li>Ability to train employees in OSHA 10 & 30 hour, HAZWOPER, MSHA New and Experienced Miner, First Aid & CPR.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assists Management and Operations in the preparation of safety related bid documents and project specific safety programs.</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Requirements:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Excellent communication and writing skills.</li>\n <li>Associates Degree in safety or related field required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.</li>\n <li>At least ten years proven work experience.</li>\n <li>OSHA 500 & 510, Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Health & Safety Technician (CHST), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or working towards preferred</li>\n <li>Computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook & database management.</li>\n <li>Basic clerical skills to include data entry, report preparation, file maintenance, scheduling appointments, and preparing invoices/bills for payment.</li>\n <li>Organization, and follow-up skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Work Environment</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped properties, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops and other elevated positions, as well as, confined spaces. Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds. Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position. Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools.
