Appropriately delegates tasks to team members to maximize resources.</li><li>Assumes responsibility for and demonstrates ability to effectively organize and prioritize work and available resources to maintain efficient patient flow in the clinic.</li><li>Manipulates the nursing schedule as necessary to maintain the best possible nurse/provider ratio, considering numbers, skill levels, cost effectiveness.</li><li>Effectively manages completion of routine clinic tasks. Establishes methods to ensure consistency in maintaining emergency supplies, stock medications, vaccines, forms, sterile instrument inventory, equipment, appropriate exam room inventory, etc.</li><li>Able to act as a primary resource in emergency situations.</li><li>Actions show commitment to team effort, works well with others, supports group objectives, and participates in staff meetings and team problem solving.</li></ul><p><strong>Direct and Indirect Patient Care/Clinic Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Follows protocols and performs accurate and thorough work-ups and check-ins of all patients.</li><li>Accurately assesses current patient status as well as preventive health status and communicates needs to provider.</li><li>Initiates and provides accurate patient education based on assessment of patient needs and clinic standards of nursing care, and documents in patient record.</li><li>Provides skilled nursing care as demonstrated by safely and accurately performing technical skills (sterile dressings, EKGs, pulmonary treatments, etc.) and the safe accurate administration of medications, IV fluids, and immunizations.</li><li>Anticipates the needs of providers related to patient visits and assists providers as needed.</li><li>Exhibits caring qualities consistent with the values of the Great Salt Plains Health Center.</li><li>Assumes role of patient advocate to ensure health needs are met, to include responding to patient phone messages and requests in a timely and professional manner.</li><li>Documents all provider orders, nursing actions, and interventions on patient record consistent with guidelines, and utilizes approved abbreviations.</li><li>Appropriately triages patients on-site and via telephone during hours of operation and after-hours when on-call for appropriateness and timeliness of care per approved triage protocols and standing orders.</li><li>Knowledgeable of and follows all established Infection Control guidelines and OSHA standards and participates in staff training events.</li><li>Performs approved laboratory testing, to include proper handling and labeling of all test samples, according to health center policy and procedure, and as allowed by CLIA guidelines.</li><li>Keeps patients and families informed of situations that affect the clinic visit, i.e., extended waiting times, seeing provider other than originally scheduled, etc.</li><li>Must be comfortable administering vaccines and performing pediatric venipuncture procedures in a professional and compassionate manner.</li><li>Performs other duties incidental to work.</li></ul><p><strong>Maintains Professional Standards:</strong></p><ul><li>Meets deadlines to maintain current license and required annual training</li><li>Utilizes the Performance Improvement processes in identifying the clinic needs related to any aspect of patient care and customer service.</li><li>Demonstrates flexibility in work roles and schedules to meet the changing needs of the health center.</li><li>Maintains awareness of new information applicable to job, i.e., policies, meeting minutes, procedures, memos, protocols, and online training courses.</li><li>Utilizes slow times constructively to enhance clinic operations; assists other departments when time and workload permits.</li><li>Maintains professional appearance and follows established dress code.</li><li>Promptly informs supervisor of real or potential clinic problems. Maintains confidentiality of patients and staff.</li><li>Employee actively pursues continuing education to improve job skills and performance.</li><li>Able to identify own areas of needed improvement, formulates goals and actively works toward those goals.</li><li>Utilizes appropriate methods to deal with stressful situations.</li><li>Understands organizational goals and performs job duties in a manner consistent with these goals.</li><li>Can be relied upon to meet work schedules and fulfill responsibilities and commitments, attendance, punctuality, dependability, initiative, productivity, and efficiency.</li></ul></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
