Description

Description This isn’t a pure software sales role. It isn’t a pure client success role. It’s the best parts of both. As an Opower Sales Executive, you’ll partner with some of the most innovative electric and gas utilities across the Western United States and Western Canada. You’ll help utility leaders improve customer engagement, drive demand-side management performance, achieve regulatory objectives, and deliver measurable outcomes to millions of customers. You’ll join a talented, high-energy, collaborative, and occasionally silly team that cares deeply about our clients, our culture, and winning together. Every day you’ll work alongside utility experts, behavioral scientists, product leaders, and customer success professionals who are passionate about transforming how utilities engage their customers. This role is ideal for someone who already understands utility operations, customer programs, demand-side management, regulatory environments, and the unique challenges facing electric and gas utilities. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to utility leaders while helping shape the future of customer engagement across the energy industry. Responsibilities In this role, you will… • Be a trusted advisor to utility leaders on customer engagement, demand-side management, energy efficiency, demand response, electrification, and customer experience strategies. • Develop meaningful relationships with Director, Manager, and executive-level electric and gas utility leaders across a portfolio of named accounts. • Collaborate with account teams, delivery teams, and Opower leadership to develop and execute strategic account plans. • Become deeply embedded in client organizations by understanding their regulatory environment, customer priorities, operational challenges, and long-term objectives. • Lead conversations that connect Opower’s solutions to measurable utility outcomes and customer benefits. • Expand recurring revenue within existing accounts, identify new opportunities, and achieve annual software and services sales goals. • Navigate utility budgeting, procurement, contracting, and regulatory approval processes to efficiently move opportunities from concept to execution. • Represent the voice of the client internally while helping shape the future direction of Opower’s customer engagement platform.
