Description

Position Function: The Commercial Banking Officer will provide exceptional service to grow our business. Advocate for our mission and be committed to creating value for our customers, employees, community and shareholders. Exhibits core competencies that result in consistent delivery of positive Customer Interactions, Empowerment and Ownership and demonstrates key professional and performance skills such as Active Listening, effective Oral and Written Communication, Action and Solution Oriented and Thoroughness. Primary Accountabilities: Team Focused Leadership Contribute to the Team by reflecting on past experiences to enhance timely, accurate and balanced credit decisions. Lead credit discussions and possess good negotiation and loan structuring skills. Primarily responsible for accuracy and clarity of all documents (i.e. CAMs, correspondence, loan docs, etc.). Communicate actively and effectively. Primarily responsible to the Team for driving and steering the request from origination to booking. Contribute to the development of Underwriters and Associates. Contribute to the Team by working well with other areas of the Bank. Financial Results and/or Efficiencies Primarily responsible to the Team for reaching or exceeding its financial goals. Responsible to the Team for growing the portfolio. Constantly seek opportunities and teach Underwriters and Associates how to seek opportunities with prompt follow through. Constantly seek efficiencies for the Team Relationship Banking Primarily responsible to the Team for building trust with clients. Be attentive, anticipate, over-deliver, communicate frequently and satisfy requests promptly. Negotiate prudently with good judgment. Primarily responsible to the Team for constantly seeking opportunities to surprise and delight clients. Contribute to the Team by being familiar with products and services offered by the Bank. Risk Management/Compliance Contribute to the Team by being aware of potential risks in the marketplace and industry. Contribute to the Team by educating and advising clients of potential risks. Contribute to the Team by understanding and observing policies and procedures Primarily responsible to the Team for minimizing ticklers, exceptions and delinquencies. Primarily responsible to the Team for identifying loan re-grades promptly Personal/Professional Development Contribute to the Team by participating in Bank functions and training sessions. Contribute to the Team and community by participating in non-profits and other community endeavors. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field required. Commercial Banking Officer I Experience: 4+ years of experience in commercial lending (sales) required. Commercial Banking Officer II Experience: 5+ years experience in commercial lending (sales) required. 1+ years of experience as a team lead required. Commercial Banking Officer III Experience: 6+ years experience in commercial lending (sales) required. 2+ years of experience as a team lead required. Senior Commercial Banking Officer Experience: 7+ years experience in commercial lending (sales) required. 3+ years of experience as a team lead required. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated. Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications. Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions. Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents. Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time.
