To lead the way in health care in South Los Angeles, as the premier provider and employer of choice offering comprehensive, high quality, affordable, efficient and culturally responsive services.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>General Summary: </strong>&nbsp;The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) functions under the direct supervision of the Clinical Director. The LVN provides nursing care to patients of all ages; from pediatric to geriatric, within the LVN’s scope of practices. The ideal candidate will have to perform some of the following essential duties</p><ul><li>Assess and evaluates patient’s level of understanding of disease process and medical regiment&nbsp;</li><li>Assists in developing and monitors clinic flow in collaboration with nursing staff &nbsp;</li><li>Assists in the dispensary to serve as a liaison with providers and patients.</li><li>Uses and practices basic assessment, data collection, participates in planning, executes interventions in collaboration with Health Care Providers or as dictated by treatment plan</li><li>Documents patient’s care in accordance to the SCFHC’s policy</li><li>Directs/delegates patient care to Medical Assistants as directed by RN</li><li>Acts as a resource to resolve patient, family, and physician concerns</li><li>Calls patient for specific treatments/lab orders and orders laboratory work as directed by Provider</li><li>Provides preventive health care education and insulin teaching as well a dietary control</li><li>Attendance and punctuality is essential in order to provide quality of care to patients, face-to-face interaction with patients, and to work with provided healthcare equipment collected at clinics</li><li>Properly and effectively use relevant computer software applications and other technologies to augment support services and complete administrative duties.&nbsp;</li><li>Prepare and review with team schedule and expectations.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications Licensure and Certifications:</strong></p><ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent required</li><li>Must have minimum training from an LVN program.</li><li>Current and unrestricted California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license</li><li>Current BLS Certification required</li></ul><p><strong>Experience:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Must have 1 to 3 years of experience as an LVN.&nbsp;</li><li>Demonstrate knowledge of safety, infection control &amp; emergency policies and procedures</li><li>Must be able to work independently within scope of assigned task with minimum supervision</li><li>&nbsp;Must be able to communicate effectively, in English, both verbally and in written</li></ul><p><strong>Skills and Abilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Excellent communication skills</li><li>Computer knowledge, Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel), communication systems and internet search capabilities&nbsp;</li><li>Strong charting/documentation skills.</li><li>Natural at building relationships; empathetic, compassionate, trusting, flexible, good listeners and energetic.&nbsp;</li><li>Excellent logical reasoning and judgment skills; must be detail-oriented and organized</li><li>Demonstrates initiative, exertion, drive, desire for self-improvement, and learning ability for advancement</li><li>Bilingual and Bi-literate Spanish/English required</li></ul><p><strong>Top benefits or perks:</strong> As a team member at South Central Family Health Center, you’ll enjoy competitive wages and generous benefits:</p><ul><li>Benefits: Health care, dental, life insurance</li><li>403 (b) Retirement plan</li><li>Education &nbsp;Reimbursement</li><li>Career development: Entry-level employees have opportunities to work in management, HR or other areas of the company&nbsp;</li></ul>",
