    "description": "<p><strong>Design What Moves the World</strong></p>\n\n<p>At HFA, we design the spaces that power commerce &mdash; from distribution centers and fulfillment hubs to advanced manufacturing. We&rsquo;re seeking a Mechanical Designer II who&rsquo;s ready to take the next step in their career by building smarter, more sustainable systems for the industrial and logistics sector. &nbsp;This role can be remote within the continental U.S.</p>\n\n<p><strong>What You&rsquo;ll Do</strong><br />\nUnder the direction of a Team Lead you&#39;d support the creation of small to mid-sized facility designs or portions of large programs, including warehouse, fulfillment and manufacturing buildings.&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p><strong>Engage Design:</strong> provide HVAC and plumbing systems design &mdash; from early schematic development to final construction documents and though construction administration. You&#39;ll be using Revit, so savvy users are highly desired, and other industry standard load calculation software.&nbsp;<br />\n&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p><strong>Collaboration:</strong> Work closely with an integrated team of in-house architects, structural and electrical engineers, and internal team leads to ensure fully coordinated project documents.<br />\n&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p><strong>Support Construction:</strong> support the mechanical engineer of record, based on experience to respond to RFIs, review submittals, and support construction administration for&nbsp; projects.<br />\n&nbsp;</p>\n\n<p><strong>Job Requirements include but are not limited to:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Designer will work with Mechanical Engineer and/or Mechanical Design lead to communicate with client, deliver completed construction documents, and assist in construction administration as required for most project types.</li>\n\t<li>Designer should utilize education and experience to independently develop, implement, and draft construction documents for most project and/or project type (or at least major portions), as well as, solve medium to difficult design challenges that arise on a project or simple projects.</li>\n\t<li>Designer should be able to apply their knowledge gained through experience and knowledge of recognized national standards to simple projects, with minimal oversight from Mechanical</li>\n\t<li>Engineer or Mechanical Design Team Lead. Designer should have a thorough knowledge of software assisting programs, such as Trane Trace, and be able to apply throughout the design process. Designer should have a basic understanding of energy codes and how it impacts design.</li>\n\t<li>Designer should be able to design and draft domestic water, sewer, and natural gas piping systems, including riser diagrams, for small to medium projects.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>Job Duties include but are not limited to:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Designer should be proficient in AutoCAD and/or REVIT. Designer should be able to train new employees on company standards, drafting techniques, and answer most technical design questions on simple projects for HVAC and plumbing, as well as, possess a basic understanding of national standards (IMC, IPC, ASHRAE). Designer will have a good understanding of Trane Trace.</li>\n\t<li>Designer will work in a collaborative environment with Architects and other Engineers to develop construction documents based on a clients&#39; requirements, including performing some project management functions, quality control, or other duties as necessary.</li>\n\t<li>Designer should be able to provide a high level of quality control on all their projects and possibly others, for final review by the Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Design Lead.</li>\n\t<li>Designer will, in some cases, have direct client contact.</li>\n\t<li>Designer will be able to work within established budgets.
