Our graduates log more lab hours in nine months than most four-year degree programs, preparing them for impactful careers in biotech, life sciences, and pharmaceuticals.<br><br></span></p>\n<p><span>In this role, you'll be part of a dynamic, supportive teaching team, assisting with lab instruction, curriculum development, and daily lab operations. </span>A passion for both teaching and science is essential. T<span>his position is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing, high-impact STEM initiative—one that truly changes lives.<br></span></p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\"><span>·       </span></span>Assist in teaching laboratory technique and instrumentation</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\"><span>·       </span></span>Lead classroom instruction as comfort level allows</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\"><span>·       </span></span>Provide student assessments, feedback and professional development</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\"><span>·       </span></span>Support curricula improvement and test new protocols</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\"><span>·       </span></span>Prepare materials and set up labs for daily experiments</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\"><span>·       </span></span>Maintain chemical, consumable and equipment inventory</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\"><span>·       </span></span>Manage waste streams including consumables recycling and biohazardous materials disposal</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\"><span>·       </span></span>Perform routine maintenance of instruments and safety equipment</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Symbol\"><span>·       </span></span>Engage in community outreach, recruitment, internships and alumni support<br><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span><br></p>\n<p><span>•         </span>Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, molecular biology, or biotechnology <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">or</span> equivalent laboratory experience/training.</p>\n<p><span>•         </span>Passion and enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring.</p>\n<p><span>•         </span>Experience with modern biotechnology instrumentation and methods.</p>\n<p><span>•         </span>Sound understanding of accepted laboratory techniques and practices.</p>\n<p><span>•         </span>Ability to explain scientific concepts to non-scientists.</p>\n<p><span>•         </span>Excellent written and verbal communication.</p>\n<p><span>•         </span>High energy, can-do attitude, capable of working in a dynamic environment.</p>\n<p><span>•         </span>Proactive, adaptable, and team oriented.<br></p>\n<p><span>•         </span>Commitment to GMGI’s mission and values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>About The Academy &amp; GMGI </span></p>\n<p>Gloucester Biotechnology Academy is a hands-on vocational program training young adults for careers in life science and biotech labs.
