You’ll gain real-world experience, build leadership skills, and make lasting memories all while working in one of Maine’s most beautiful outdoor classrooms.</p>\n<p><b>Statement of the Job:</b></p>\n<p>As a Summer Camp Coordinator at Blueberry Cove, your role is pivotal in ensuring the success of diverse Summer Programs. Collaborating closely with the Director and program leadership team, you'll be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating our overnight camp, leadership and trips programs. You will serve as a mentor for staff, providing supervision, support, and feedback. The Summer Camp Coordinator supports the intangible magic of camp, melding education, engagement, and fun creatively. You have a deep appreciation for summer camp and are committed to creating positive, life-changing experiences for campers and staff.</p>\n<p><b>$800 a week stipend for 10 weeks, including paid training, paid in bi-weekly installments.&nbsp;</b></p>\n<p><b>We are not able to consider applicants who require Visa sponsorship support.</b></p>\n<p><a href=\"https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GTaaiI3Em4BEEqzC9wCo2EGvvAbRDdWP6H2AtvLCLmE/edit?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><b><u>Complete Job Description</u></b></a></p>\n<p><b>Qualifications:</b></p>\n<p><b>Required:&nbsp;</b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>You need a High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)</li>\n <li>You need a minimum of 3 years related experience working with youth and teaching in the outdoors or equivalent<br>\n   AND/OR</li>\n <li>You need to have these current certifications &nbsp;or have held these certifications in the past and are willing to obtain them again. Camp may be able to provide certification \n  <ul>\n   <li>Waterfront Lifeguard&nbsp;</li>\n   <li>CPR and First Aid&nbsp;<br>\n     &nbsp;</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p><b>Preferred:&nbsp;</b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>You have a valid US driver’s license and are eligible to be authorized and approved as a university driver based on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https://umaine.edu/ofm/wp-content/uploads/sites/225/2016/09/Motor-Vehicle-Use-Policies.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><u>Driver Administration Policy</u></a>.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>This camp is licensed by the State of Maine. You must meet the&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.maine.gov/dhhs/sites/maine.gov.dhhs/files/rule-2025-05/Youth%20Camps%20Rule%2010-144%20CMR%20Ch%20208%20_0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><u>State of Maine requirement</u></a>&nbsp;for driving vehicles, \"Drivers of vehicles carrying campers must be at least 21 years of age and be approved by the camp’s auto liability insurer’s agent.\"&nbsp;</li>\n <li>You hold a higher additional certification that is specific to the outdoors like:&nbsp; \n  <ul>\n   <li>Wilderness Responder Certification</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>You have a genuine motivation to work with children in a vibrant, high-energy outdoor setting where every day is an adventure.</li>\n <li>You demonstrate responsible and safe decision-making skills, ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience for all campers during outdoor programming</li>\n <li>You hold a First Aid and Basic Life Support certification or are eager to obtain one before the start date to ensure the safety and well-being of campers.</li>\n <li>You have the ability to lead groups in various outdoor environments, comfortably carrying a small backpack filled with teaching supplies and a first aid kit to support your activities.</li>\n <li>Ability to work a flexible schedule, live in camp during the summer season and work some additional evenings and weekends</li>\n <li>You have experience leading staff training or in-services&nbsp;</li>\n <li>You have experience supervising staff and providing positive mentorship</li>\n <li>You have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive camp vehicles</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b>About Blueberry Cove 4-H Learning Center:</b></p>\n<p>The 4-H Camp and Learning Centers provide environmentally focused programs for Maine youth and families. Our mission is to teach youth and adults to be effective and caring citizens of the earth through affordable environmental education and fun nature-based experiences. Tucked into a cove on a coast of Maine, Blueberry Cove, is a place to explore the ocean while having fun and experiencing the joys of being a part of the natural world, we emphasize community living, respect for all, and healthy relationships.
