Description

Who We Are At JonnyPops, our team is empowered to make an impact every day — from producing high-quality, innovative frozen novelties to spreading kindness one pop at a time. We look for bright and ambitious individuals who seek out challenges, thrive in fast-paced and high-growth environments, align with our core values, and get fulfillment from seeing their work transform the world around them. Based in Elk River, MN, JonnyPops develops, manufactures, distributes, and markets frozen novelties. Growing from a dorm-room start-up in 2012, our mission is to make “A Better Pop for a Better World!” — and we lead the frozen novelties space in innovation, using simple ingredients with no artificial dyes. Every pop stick includes a kind deed, spreading kindness every day. Why This Role Exists JonnyPops currently relies on outside electrical contractors for all permitted electrical work, inspection support, and emergency repairs. As we scale our Elk River facility — adding production capacity, commissioning the vision system across all lines, and operationalizing HTST — the volume and urgency of electrical work has grown beyond what an outside partner can reliably support at acceptable cost and speed. This role brings licensed Master Electrician capability in-house, reducing third-party overhead, eliminating response-time dependencies, and enabling JonnyPops to self-perform permitted electrical work. Job Summary The Master Electrician is the licensed electrical authority for JonnyPops’ Elk River manufacturing facility. You will own all in-house electrical work from routine maintenance and preventive inspections to capital project support — pulling your own permits, supervising journeymen, and serving as the primary point of contact for electrical code compliance, AHJ inspections, and utility coordination. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with our Maintenance & Engineering team to keep all lines running at peak reliability. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Electrical Operations & Maintenance Perform, direct, and permit all electrical installations, modifications, and repairs throughout the facility (lighting, motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, 480V/120V distribution, refrigeration controls). Execute and continuously improve the preventive maintenance (PM) program for all electrical systems — panel boards, motor starters, disconnects, and control panels. Provide rapid emergency electrical response to minimize unplanned downtime on production lines Support commissioning and ongoing reliability of HTST systems, vision inspection equipment, and new capital installations as directed by engineering leadership. Read and interpret single-line diagrams, panel schedules, control schematics, and equipment wiring diagrams; maintain accurate as-built documentation in the CMMS (Fiix). Permitting, Compliance & Code Authority Pull and manage electrical permits under your Master Electrician license for all qualifying work, reducing reliance on outside electrical contractors for permitted scopes. Serve as the on-site authority for NEC compliance; coordinate AHJ inspections and ensure all work passes first inspection. Ensure full compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (electrical safety in general industry), NFPA 70E arc flash standards, and all applicable local codes. Maintain and update arc flash studies, single-line diagrams, and electrical safety documentation as systems are modified or added. Manage utility coordination (Xcel Energy) for service upgrades, demand management, and new connections. Team Leadership & Craft Development Supervise journeyman and apprentice electricians as the team grows; ensure all supervised work is performed safely, correctly, and in compliance with your license obligations. Train and mentor maintenance technicians on electrical safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and basic electrical troubleshooting. Contribute to standard work development for electrical tasks; document procedures in a format accessible to the broader maintenance team. Capital Projects & Cost Management Partner with engineering and operations leadership on capital project scoping, labor estimation, and execution — self-performing electrical work that would otherwise be contracted out. Track and report electrical labor costs versus third-party contractor benchmarks, providing visibility into savings realized from in-house capability. Manage electrical materials, tools, and spare parts inventory to support planned and emergency work without excessive stock-on-hand cost. Food Safety & GMP Responsibilities Perform all electrical work in accordance with JonnyPops GMPs and food-safety standards — using food-grade materials where required and following sanitary design principles. Ensure all electrical installations meet NSF, USDA, and FDA facility standards as applicable. Participate in facility audits and proactively address any electrical findings to maintain compliance and protect product integrity. Minimum Qualifications Active Minnesota Master Electrician license (required; valid and in good standing at time of hire). 7+ years of commercial or industrial electrical experience, with demonstrated proficiency in 480V/3-phase systems, motor controls, VFDs, and PLCs. Proven experience pulling permits and managing AHJ inspections independently. Proficiency reading and creating single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and control wiring schematics. Solid understanding of NEC, OSHA 1910 electrical standards, and NFPA 70E arc flash safety. Experience in a food, beverage, or other regulated manufacturing environment; familiarity with GMP requirements. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment — comfortable shifting between planned maintenance, capital projects, and emergency response as priorities demand. CMMS experience (Fiix preferred) for work order creation, PM scheduling, and documentation. Preferred Qualifications Experience with refrigeration electrical systems. Familiarity with vision system integration (Cognex, Keyence, or similar) and packaging line electrical interfaces. Prior experience serving as in-house electrical authority at a manufacturing facility — eliminating or significantly reducing reliance on a third-party electrical contractor. Bilingual (English/Spanish) — a plus given the multilingual team environment on the production floor. Physical Demands and Work Environment Primarily on-site at the Elk River manufacturing facility; occasional travel to the Plymouth office for project coordination. Regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders, work in confined spaces and elevated areas, and lift up to 50 lbs. Works in variable temperature environments (production areas range from ambient to freezing); exposure to industrial noise and machinery. On-call availability for critical electrical emergencies may be required. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required per task, including arc flash PPE rated to facility hazard levels. Benefits JonnyPops offers a competitive benefits package, including: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance HSA, FSA, and DCFSA Life & AD&D Insurance | Short & Long Term Disability Flexible Time Off (FTO) / PTO + Paid Holidays + Sick & Safe Leave 401(k) | EAP Programs | Employee Referral Program Expected Pay Range; $110,000-$130,000 JonnyPops offers a competitive benefits package which includes the following: Medical/Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance HSA FSA DCFSA Life & AD&D Insurance Short & Long Term Disability FTO/PTO EAP Programs Paid Holidays Employee Referral Program Sick & Safe Leave 401k Company Sponsored Meal Plan * Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses and/or commissions.

"description_text": "Who We Are\n At JonnyPops, our team is empowered to make an impact every day — from producing high-quality, innovative frozen novelties to spreading kindness one pop at a time. We look for bright and ambitious individuals who seek out challenges, thrive in fast-paced and high-growth environments, align with our core values, and get fulfillment from seeing their work transform the world around them.\n Based in Elk River, MN, JonnyPops develops, manufactures, distributes, and markets frozen novelties. Growing from a dorm-room start-up in 2012, our mission is to make “A Better Pop for a Better World!” — and we lead the frozen novelties space in innovation, using simple ingredients with no artificial dyes. Every pop stick includes a kind deed, spreading kindness every day.\n Why This Role Exists\n JonnyPops currently relies on outside electrical contractors for all permitted electrical work, inspection support, and emergency repairs. As we scale our Elk River facility — adding production capacity, commissioning the vision system across all lines, and operationalizing HTST — the volume and urgency of electrical work has grown beyond what an outside partner can reliably support at acceptable cost and speed.\n This role brings licensed Master Electrician capability in-house, reducing third-party overhead, eliminating response-time dependencies, and enabling JonnyPops to self-perform permitted electrical work.\n Job Summary\n The Master Electrician is the licensed electrical authority for JonnyPops’ Elk River manufacturing facility. You will own all in-house electrical work from routine maintenance and preventive inspections to capital project support — pulling your own permits, supervising journeymen, and serving as the primary point of contact for electrical code compliance, AHJ inspections, and utility coordination. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with our Maintenance & Engineering team to keep all lines running at peak reliability.\n Essential Duties and Responsibilities\n Electrical Operations & Maintenance Perform, direct, and permit all electrical installations, modifications, and repairs throughout the facility (lighting, motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, 480V/120V distribution, refrigeration controls).\n Execute and continuously improve the preventive maintenance (PM) program for all electrical systems — panel boards, motor starters, disconnects, and control panels.\n Provide rapid emergency electrical response to minimize unplanned downtime on production lines\n Support commissioning and ongoing reliability of HTST systems, vision inspection equipment, and new capital installations as directed by engineering leadership.\n Read and interpret single-line diagrams, panel schedules, control schematics, and equipment wiring diagrams; maintain accurate as-built documentation in the CMMS (Fiix).\n Permitting, Compliance & Code Authority Pull and manage electrical permits under your Master Electrician license for all qualifying work, reducing reliance on outside electrical contractors for permitted scopes.\n Serve as the on-site authority for NEC compliance; coordinate AHJ inspections and ensure all work passes first inspection.\n Ensure full compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (electrical safety in general industry), NFPA 70E arc flash standards, and all applicable local codes.\n Maintain and update arc flash studies, single-line diagrams, and electrical safety documentation as systems are modified or added.\n Manage utility coordination (Xcel Energy) for service upgrades, demand management, and new connections.\n Team Leadership & Craft Development Supervise journeyman and apprentice electricians as the team grows; ensure all supervised work is performed safely, correctly, and in compliance with your license obligations.\n Train and mentor maintenance technicians on electrical safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and basic electrical troubleshooting.\n Contribute to standard work development for electrical tasks; document procedures in a format accessible to the broader maintenance team.\n Capital Projects & Cost Management Partner with engineering and operations leadership on capital project scoping, labor estimation, and execution — self-performing electrical work that would otherwise be contracted out.\n Track and report electrical labor costs versus third-party contractor benchmarks, providing visibility into savings realized from in-house capability.\n Manage electrical materials, tools, and spare parts inventory to support planned and emergency work without excessive stock-on-hand cost.\n Food Safety & GMP Responsibilities Perform all electrical work in accordance with JonnyPops GMPs and food-safety standards — using food-grade materials where required and following sanitary design principles.\n Ensure all electrical installations meet NSF, USDA, and FDA facility standards as applicable.\n Participate in facility audits and proactively address any electrical findings to maintain compliance and protect product integrity.\n Minimum Qualifications Active Minnesota Master Electrician license (required; valid and in good standing at time of hire).\n 7+ years of commercial or industrial electrical experience, with demonstrated proficiency in 480V/3-phase systems, motor controls, VFDs, and PLCs.\n Proven experience pulling permits and managing AHJ inspections independently.\n Proficiency reading and creating single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and control wiring schematics.\n Solid understanding of NEC, OSHA 1910 electrical standards, and NFPA 70E arc flash safety.\n Experience in a food, beverage, or other regulated manufacturing environment; familiarity with GMP requirements.\n Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment — comfortable shifting between planned maintenance, capital projects, and emergency response as priorities demand.\n CMMS experience (Fiix preferred) for work order creation, PM scheduling, and documentation.\n Preferred Qualifications Experience with refrigeration electrical systems.\n Familiarity with vision system integration (Cognex, Keyence, or similar) and packaging line electrical interfaces.\n Prior experience serving as in-house electrical authority at a manufacturing facility — eliminating or significantly reducing reliance on a third-party electrical contractor.\n Bilingual (English/Spanish) — a plus given the multilingual team environment on the production floor.\n Physical Demands and Work Environment Primarily on-site at the Elk River manufacturing facility; occasional travel to the Plymouth office for project coordination.\n Regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders, work in confined spaces and elevated areas, and lift up to 50 lbs.\n Works in variable temperature environments (production areas range from ambient to freezing); exposure to industrial noise and machinery.\n On-call availability for critical electrical emergencies may be required.\n Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required per task, including arc flash PPE rated to facility hazard levels.\n Benefits\n JonnyPops offers a competitive benefits package, including: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance\n HSA, FSA, and DCFSA\n Life & AD&D Insurance | Short & Long Term Disability\n Flexible Time Off (FTO) / PTO + Paid Holidays + Sick & Safe Leave\n 401(k) | EAP Programs | Employee Referral Program\nExpected Pay Range;\n$110,000-$130,000 JonnyPops offers a competitive benefits package which includes the following:\n Medical/Health Insurance\n Dental Insurance\n Vision Insurance\n HSA\n FSA\n DCFSA\n Life & AD&D Insurance\n Short & Long Term Disability\n FTO/PTO\n EAP Programs\n Paid Holidays\n Employee Referral Program\n Sick & Safe Leave\n 401k\n Company Sponsored Meal Plan\n * Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses and/or commissions.",
