As a Rides Maintenance Technician, you’ll help ensure the reliability and safety of our amusement rides, water attractions, and facilities—supporting the experiences that bring joy to thousands of guests every day.<em>Primarily performs general and preventative maintenance and inspections on all amusement rides, water rides and features, and attractions at Columbus Zoological Park Association properties.</em></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Maintenance</strong> &<strong> Inspections</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs general and preventative maintenance and inspections on amusement rides, water rides and features, and attractions.</li>\n <li>Implements preventative maintenance programs based on the manufacturer’s requirements and best practices.</li>\n <li>Performs daily ride, slide, and pool inspections and any necessary repairs.</li>\n <li>Utilizes technology to complete routine maintenance schedules.</li>\n <li>Ensures manufacturers’ maintenance and repair bulletins are completed and recorded.</li>\n <li>Records all maintenance, inspections, and repair activity in the appropriate equipment log.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Compliance & Safety</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Understands the “Laws and Rules Governing Amusement Rides in Ohio.”</li>\n <li>Reads and understands operation and maintenance manuals.</li>\n <li>Assures safety through training, SOP compliance, and proper equipment maintenance.</li>\n <li>May work with hazardous chemicals including hydrochloric acid and liquid chlorine.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Operations & Support</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Operates motorized vehicles and specialized equipment.</li>\n <li>Provides support for special events like Wildlights and Zoofari.</li>\n <li>Monitors and reports potential problems in buildings and attractions.</li>\n <li>Participates in snow removal and environmental maintenance.</li>\n <li>May assist other Facilities personnel and participate in cross-training.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Leadership & Teamwork</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>May provide work direction to seasonal associates.</li>\n <li>Attends required meetings and supports the organization’s mission.</li>\n <li>Implements sustainable practices in daily tasks.</li>\n <li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education & Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li>\n <li>Minimum of six months’ maintenance experience preferred.</li>\n <li>Technical school (2-year degree) in related field preferred.</li>\n <li>Electrical experience and/or certifications highly preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Certifications & Requirements</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>CPR and first aid training within the first year.</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license and ability to operate standard shift vehicles.</li>\n <li>Negative TB screening and background check required.</li>\n <li>Adherence to drug-free workplace policy.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Communication & Interpersonal Skills</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to provide excellent guest service.</li>\n <li>Ability to develop cooperative working relationships.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Work Ethic & Flexibility</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently and efficiently.</li>\n <li>Commitment to safety protocols and standard operating procedures.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><em>Our mission at the Columbus Zoo Family of Parks is Empowering People.
