    "description_html": "<p><strong>Job title</strong></p><p><em>Technician</em></p><p><strong>Reports to</strong></p><p><em>Maintenance Supervisor</em></p><p><strong>Level</strong></p><p><em>Level 1 - Entry</em></p><p><strong>Status</strong></p><p><em>Hourly / Non-Exempt</em></p><p><strong>JOB DESCRIPTION</strong></p><p><strong>Job purpose</strong></p><p>The Maintenance Technician performs routine and preventive maintenance throughout the manufacturing facility.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Duties and responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Starts machines and observes mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems.</li><li>Reads work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.</li><li>Inspects or tests damaged machine and marks defective areas or advises supervisors of repair needs.</li><li>Reassembles machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.</li><li>Dismantles machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.</li><li>Performs routine electrical maintenance and repair.</li><li>Determines causes of operating errors to troubleshoot equipment failures.</li><li>Responsible for building maintenance including grounds, roof repair and debris removal.</li><li>All other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p><strong>Required</strong></p><ul><li>Associate degree in industrial maintenance field; 3+ years’ experience considered in lieu of degree.</li><li>Basic computer skills</li><li>Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.</li><li>Knowledge of arithmetic and its applications</li><li>Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and electrical technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.</li><li>Attention to detail and good communication skills.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred</strong></p><ul><li>Prior working experience in a manufacturing or maintenance environment.</li></ul><p><strong>Working conditions</strong></p><p>This job operates primarily in a plant environment but may also include work in the office and warehousing areas.</p><p><strong>Physical requirements</strong></p><p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, bend, stoop, kneel and twist and lift up to 50 pounds; hold and operate air powered tools weighing up to 5 pounds. The employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods of time and use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The job is in a plant environment where the temperature can be hot or cold depending on the weather.&nbsp;</p>",
