    "description": "<p>We have an exciting opportunity for an <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Intermediate or Senior Buildings Electrical Engineer </span>to join our <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Ottawa, ON </span>team!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>As a Buildings Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for various building projects. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure that our electrical designs are efficient, safe, and meet client expectations. This role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, a passion for innovation, and a commitment to sustainability.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Specifically, you will:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design and prepare contract documents for electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems;</li>\n<li>Participate in Building Condition Assessments (BCAs);</li>\n<li>Coordinate design support staff across multiple disciplines;</li>\n<li>Manage projects to meet budget and deliverables;</li>\n<li>Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and clients;</li>\n<li>Prepare proposals, respond to external RFPs, and lead proposal initiatives in collaboration with other disciplines and stakeholders;</li>\n<li>Provide input into construction cost estimates;</li>\n<li>Perform Construction administration and field reviews;</li>\n<li>Conduct document development, planning, and/or execution of commissioning and start-up activities;</li>\n<li>Participate in Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Studies;</li>\n<li>Prepare technical RFQ documents, technical review of bid submissions, and review of vendor documentation following award;</li>\n<li>Coordinate and work with project team members in various branch offices or project sites in Canada and abroad;</li>\n<li>Assure that all work on assigned projects is timely, within budget, accurate, and in-line with corporate and/or project specific quality and safety objectives;</li>\n<li>Participate in the design, construction administration, and/or commissioning of Health care facilities including Public Private Partnerships (PPP), acute care facilities, long-term care facilities and primary care facilities.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Your Capabilities and Credentials:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering;</li>\n<li>Registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada with eligibility for registration with <br>the provincial licensing body;</li>\n<li>Minimum eight (8) years experience in the design of electrical systems for commercial and institutional buildings;</li>\n<li>Additional professional accreditations such as PMP, RCDD, LC, LEED AP, WELL AP, CTS, CEM, RHFAC, etc. would be considered an asset;</li>\n<li>Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit;</li>\n<li>Experience with AGi32 lighting simulation software;</li>\n<li>Experience with ElumTools would be considered an asset;</li>\n<li>Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills;</li>\n<li>Valid driver’s license and be able to travel to job sites within Ontario and surrounding areas.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What we can offer you:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>A competitive compensation package effective on your first day of employment:\n<ul>\n<li>Comprehensive health and dental benefits</li>\n<li>CAAT Defined Benefit Pension Plan with employer contributions</li>\n<li>Generous vacation allowance commensurate with experience</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Maternity or Parental leave top-up</li>\n<li>Health spending account</li>\n<li>Wellness incentive</li>\n<li>Membership dues reimbursement</li>\n<li>Education and lifelong learning subsidization</li>\n<li>Community volunteering incentive</li>\n<li>Employee Family Assistance Program</li>\n<li>Public transit subsidy</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>In addition to the above benefits, we offer:</p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Flexible work hours </span>with occasional work-from-home opportunities, supporting both your professional and personal commitments.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Diverse team </span>with a wide range of experience and expertise.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Exposure </span>to a variety of projects.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Support </span>to develop skills and pursue projects related to your own interests.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Collaboration </span>between multiple disciplines and levels of expertise.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Mentoring opportunities</span> to foster your personal and professional development.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Accessible </span>and central offices in Atlantic Canada and Ottawa.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Access to training </span>opportunities in areas ranging from technical development to leadership skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About Us</span></p>\n<p>At CBCL our purpose is to create a positive and lasting impact on people and our planet.
