From engineering to quality assurance to data science, the R&D team ensures our customers seamlessly use our products and can depend on their consistency.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<h2>Role Overview</h2>\n<p>We are hiring a Software Engineer to help build a new multi-tenant, cloud-native reporting and data platform, replacing the legacy single-tenant reporting system. This role is hands-on and highly technical, focusing on development, automation, and the use of AI to migrate and refactor business logic and report configurations.</p>\n<h2>Key Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Build AWS serverless components using Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway and related services.</li>\n   <li>Develop backend services and components using Python, TypeScript, and SQL.</li>\n   <li>Write and optimize SQL for data access and reporting workloads; Snowflake experience is a plus.</li>\n   <li>Implement AI-driven solutions to extract business logic from legacy code, generate new report parameter screens and metadata, and perform logic validation.</li>\n   <li>Collaborate closely with Senior and Lead Engineers on architecture, design, and implementation plans.</li>\n   <li>Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, monitoring, and performance optimization.</li>\n   <li>Maintain high engineering standards, documentation quality, and best practices.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<h2>Required Skills & Experience</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Solid hands-on experience with AWS serverless technologies.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in Python and TypeScript for backend development.</li>\n <li>Strong understanding of <strong>SQL</strong> and relational/dimensional modeling basics.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated AI engineering experience, such as LLM integration, embeddings, or AI-driven code workflows.</li>\n <li>Experience building APIs, event-driven components, or distributed backend systems.</li>\n <li>Strong debugging skills and ability to follow complex logic patterns.</li>\n <li>Ability to collaborate in an engineering team environment and work with minimal supervision.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with Snowflake or other cloud data warehouses.</li>\n <li>Exposure to ETL/ELT patterns or data pipeline tools.</li>\n <li>Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD workflows.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with domain-driven design or multi‑tenant system principles.</li>\n <li>Strong communication and collaborative engineering habits.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Compensation & Benefits</h2> \n<h3>Compensation & Benefits</h3> \n<p>PowerSchool offers the following benefits:</p> \n<ul> \n <li>Comprehensive Insurance Coverage (including Medical, Dental, Vision, Pharmacy benefits, Life Insurance and AD&D)</li> \n <li>Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts</li> \n <li>Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability</li> \n <li>Comprehensive 401(k) plan</li> \n <li>Generous Parental Leave</li> \n <li>Unrestricted paid time off (known as Discretionary Time Off - DTO)</li> \n <li>Wellness Program, including ClassPass & Employee Assistance Program</li> \n <li>Tuition Reimbursement</li> \n <li>Optional Benefits: Pet Insurance, Identity Theft Protection, Student Debt Repayment Program and Prepaid Legal coverage</li> \n</ul> \n<p>A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $56,100 - $111,800 USD.
