    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">The Catherine Cutler Institute at the University of Southern Maine, in partnership with the Maine CDC, is seeking a Research Associate II: Project Coordinator.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RsP-Rq7xVU12DwLxY2rp1ZUHaDD6OEOf/edit?usp=drive_link&amp;ouid=102831109340735176035&amp;rtpof=true&amp;sd=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Research&nbsp;Associate&nbsp;II&nbsp;(RAII)</a>&nbsp;delivers&nbsp;project coordination&nbsp;services&nbsp;provided under&nbsp;contract&nbsp;to&nbsp;Environmental Health Program&nbsp;within&nbsp;the&nbsp;Maine&nbsp;Center&nbsp;for Disease&nbsp;Control&nbsp;and&nbsp;Prevention&nbsp;(CDC).&nbsp;The&nbsp;RAII manages and supports the management of US CDC-funded environmental health grants including,&nbsp;but&nbsp;not&nbsp;limited&nbsp;to, a&nbsp;Climate and Health grant, an Environmental Public Health Tracking grant, and a Strengthening Environmental Health Capacity grant.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>This position will:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manage and coordinate multiple CDC-funded environmental health grants, including workplan oversight, reporting, budgeting, contract management, and stakeholder engagement.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Lead and support public health initiatives focused on extreme heat, extreme cold, pollen exposure, and environmental health resilience across Maine communities.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Monitor environmental health events, track data, and disseminate timely information and resources to public health partners.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Collaborate with state agencies, community organizations, and stakeholders to develop and implement environmental health programs, data systems, and public health interventions.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Oversee and enhance the MaineTracking Network and support development of environmental health data resources, including private well water and pollen monitoring initiatives.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Facilitate stakeholder groups, meetings, and interagency collaborations; gather and synthesize feedback, research, and scientific literature.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Support communications efforts through newsletters, social media, websites, grant applications, reports, and research publications.</li>\n <li>Monitor program expenditures, approve invoices, provide task-based staff oversight, and travel statewide as needed to support program activities.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">This is a grant funded position with a starting annual salary up to $73,000.&nbsp; This is a full-time, hybrid remote position, with in-office days at the Maine CDC building in Augusta.&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">The University of Southern Maine offers highly competitive <a href=\"https://usm.maine.edu/campus-human-resource-services/benefits-and-wellness/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">benefits</a>&nbsp;for full-time and eligible part-time employees that includes (but is not limited to):</p>\n<ul>\n <li>13 paid holidays plus earned vacation time and sick time.</li>\n <li>Health, dental and vision insurance.</li>\n <li>Low-cost short-term disability insurance and employer-paid long-term disability insurance.</li>\n <li>Employer-paid basic life insurance and supplemental life insurance.</li>\n <li>A tuition waiver program for employees and their spouse or dependent child(ren).</li>\n <li>A 403(b)-retirement plan with employer contribution.</li>\n <li>Free access to the METRO system, including the Husky Line with service between our Portland and Gorham campuses.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>To learn more, please review the <a href=\"https://usm.maine.edu/campus-human-resource-services/wp-content/uploads/sites/235/2022/07/Single-Page-Benefits-UMPSA.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Benefits Information Summary</a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https://usm.maine.edu/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">University of Southern Maine</a>&nbsp;is a vibrant academic community located in the greater Portland, Maine area, including campuses in Portland, Gorham, Lewiston, and online.
