We do this by offering customized production, management, human resources and record keeping services that enable smart and bottom-line decision-making.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Come join our industry that supports nearly 555,000 jobs across the country and where many career paths include professional development, growth and promotion, continuing education and a future full of opportunities.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-weight: bold\">Essential Functions</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Lead and manage multiple sow farms by partnering with and developing unit managers to keep them energized, engaged and successful. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Frequently conduct farm site visits to provide hands-on production support and guidance to farm managers, employees and owners.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Regularly work alongside farm employees to help with their daily activities to build relationships, keep a pulse on the team dynamics, and to oversee the farm’s processes.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Assist in overseeing the overall production status, safety and compliance requirements.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Assess production numbers and evaluate factors that impact production goals.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Assist in ensuring that managers and farm personnel have the necessary training, supplies and tools to meet production goals.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Assist in troubleshooting health challenges of pigs as needed.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Communicate and collaborate regularly with the PCM, veterinarians, other departments, and farm owners.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Assist in continuous improvement efforts in the health and welfare of all animals.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Benchmark production results to industry and client standards.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Implement protocols for sites under the direction of PCM.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Assist managers in driving employee engagement in order to achieve production goals.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Understand and adhere to bio-security procedures for each site.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Promote and demonstrate safe animal handling practices.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Occasionally, may serve as an interim unit manager or provide longer-term additional support at the sow farms in which PCM manages.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Internet Explorer to run reports, create documents, enter data, and to navigate and locate important documents</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><span style=\"color: #000000; font-weight: bold\">Position Type/Expected Hours of Work</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. This position may occasionally require long hours and weekend work, especially during health and/or staffing challenges.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-weight: bold\">Travel</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">This position requires extensive travel, as most of the position involves traveling to and working from clients’ locations. Frequent out-of-area and overnight travel is expected.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-weight: bold\">Required Education and Experience</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">High school diploma or GED diploma, or 5 years of related sow farm experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">A minimum of 2 years’ experience on a sow farm in gestation and/or farrowing.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Demonstrated proficiency in all areas of breeding and gestation.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Demonstrated proficiency in all areas of farrowing.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Keen ability to analyze and interpret production records.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Excellent organizational, leadership, teamwork, production, problem solving and communication skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Lives our core values.</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-weight: bold\">Preferred Education and Experience</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">2+ years’ experience as a Lead on a sow farm in gestation and/or farrowing.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Experience with nursery and finishing pigs.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Previous leadership experience, training and/or other relevant certification(s).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Previous human resources experience, training and/or other relevant certifications(s).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">2 – 4-year degree in Animal Science or Veterinary Technician.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Demonstrated skills in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Internet Explorer.</span></li>\n</ul>",
