Description
As a Chemist I here at Honeywell, you will focus on leading a team of chemists in a clean room environment. Drawing upon your extensive knowledge of chemistry fundamentals to help Honeywell deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will work alongside and give guidance to some of the world’s most talented chemists to develop and optimize chemical formulations, conduct experiments, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development of Honeywell’s next generation of products. You will oversee the execution of experiments and tests to aid in the development of improved manufacturing procedures and processes. You will be a part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise and ensure the success of our projects and programs.
In this role, you will impact the seamless integration of chemistry principles into product development, enhancing the quality and innovation of Honeywell’s offerings. Your leadership fosters a dynamic and collaborative environment, ultimately driving the company's success by pushing the boundaries of scientific possibilities.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
Accountable for performing non-routine and complex analyses, troubleshooting and maintaining analytical systems along with applying and improving analytical systems. Provides analytical data to release products and enable process and/or product optimization and problem prevention Apply chemical and manufacturing process knowledge to assist departments across Shreveport site (ops, env., etc.) Ensures that all Laboratory Analysts and new Analytical Technologists are trained on new and/or improved analytical systems. Develops and utilizes the knowledge needed to reduce variation and increase predictability in plant & Laboratory performance incorporating a wide variety of statistical tools (six sigma). Provides insight and expertise to optimize plant operations using statistical process control. Drives and leads the SPC process for the Laboratory. Ensures that Most Effective Technology (MET) is utilized in the Laboratory. Responsible for performing all forms of analytical research, method development & improvement, and analytical investigations on Shreveport chemical & manufacturing processes. Accountable for compliance with all laboratory HS&E procedures & ensures that all Analysts are aware of and in compliance with all HS&E Laboratory procedures. Performs limited supervisory duties, as the position assists with the identification of training needs and provides input to the Laboratory Manager regarding performance issues & ratings for lower-level analysts & technicians.
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
BS Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or an equivalent degree. Minimum 1 years' experience in a laboratory
