Learn more about our work at www.innovatingjustice.org . THE OPPORTUNITY The Center for Justice Innovation is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk. Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for the complete, timely and accurate payment of the Center’s OTPS (Other Than Personnel Services) expenses. Strong communication skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships across the organization and with outside vendors and partners. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Review and approve invoices/payment requests, expense reports and credit card reports for completeness and prior payment history; Ensure accuracy and proper general ledger account allocation for all items under review; Enter invoices for Fiscal Department on a weekly basis; Process weekly payment batches, including checks and ACH payments; Process payment application for manual payments, including automatic withdrawals; Prepare payment documentation for signature and distribution; Research and resolve accounts payable discrepancies, including vendor statements, inquiries, and payment issues (via email or Teams); Maintain vendor files; Maintain W9 files and assist with preparation of 1099s; and Special projects and other duties as assigned. Qualifications:  Associate's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field with 1-3 years of experience in nonprofit and/or government accounting, including grant and contract accounting, compliance, and reporting. Knowledge of accounts payable and general accounting procedures is a must. Knowledge of accounts payable and general accounting procedures is a must. Proficient in data entry, and problem solving. Strong communication, attention to detail and organizational skills as well as prioritization a must. Must be highly proficient with computers, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Experience in Cloud Accounting Systems preferred. Position Type:  Monday - Friday from 9:00am - 5:00pm. Position Location:  Hybrid role in Midtown Manhattan. Compensation:  The compensation range for this position is $55,000 - $67,000 and is commensurate with experience. Benefits: The Center for Justice Innovation offers an excellent benefits package including comprehensive healthcare with a national network, free basic dental coverage, vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, and flexible spending accounts including commuter FSA. We prioritize mental health care for our staff and offer services like Talkspace and Ginger through our healthcare plans. We offer a 403(b) retirement plan with a two-to-one employer contribution up to 5%.
