Department Overview
Our Minneapolis 7th floor is a 33-bed pediatric unit that provides care to infants, children and young adults in the areas of hematology, oncology, general medical/surgical care and patients needing behavioral crisis monitoring. Our team of dedicated professionals specializes in care of patients with hematology and oncology diseases, including new diagnosis, transfusions, chemotherapy administration, central line maintenance and end-of-life care. Our 7th floor staff also care for general medical/surgical patients, particularly those with non-infectious illnesses in order to maintain a clean environment for our patients with weakened immune systems. We utilize three inpatient rooms to support patients who need behavioral crisis monitoring. Our patients have an average length of stay ranging from a few days up to months depending on the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment the patient is receiving. We work collaboratively with our outpatient hematology/oncology clinic to coordinate ongoing chemotherapy treatment and system management. We value, teamwork, open communication, safety and respect. We embrace an environment that encourages learning, professional growth and innovation in order to provide exceptional care for children.
Position Summary
