We are currently seeking a Deck Captain to join our team. This position requires a highly reputable and experienced individual who can effectively lead, manage, and support our crew.</p><p>All Encore employees are committed to maintaining an Injury-Free Work Environment (IFWE), ensuring that every team member works safely and returns home to their families each day.</p><p><strong><u>Applications that do not provide sufficient dredge experience, detailed work history, job responsibilities, and accurate employment dates will be disqualified.</u></strong></p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This is not all-inclusive)</strong></p><ul id=\"isPasted\"><li>Upholds the Company&rsquo;s commitment to an injury-free workplace; leads and models safe work practices&nbsp;</li><li>Follows&nbsp;all safety rules and regulations as well as all company policies and procedures</li><li>Works safely around machinery; observes and instructs others in proper equipment use; uses/wears all required PPE&nbsp;</li><li>Ensures team members are provided a safe work environment and are knowledgeable of safe work practices and policies</li><li>Reviews equipment logs, deficiency logs, maintenance logs, and leverman logs and performs follow-up inspections on a daily basis and notes results in appropriate safety inspection form and maintenance logs</li><li>Assists in the planning and safe, efficient execution of all moves under the captains&rsquo; supervision</li><li>Supervises the performance of the dredge, the crew, and the equipment to achieve maximum efficiency on both shifts</li><li>Assists with inventory and ordering all supplies and spare parts along with housekeeping of equipment</li><li>Assumes the duties of the captain in his absence</li><li>Performs duties as the safety director and is responsible for the safety of his crew and equipment</li><li>Assists the captain and the chief with planning and overseeing of repairs and maintenance</li><li>Works directly with the chief, the captain, and the equipment manager to properly and efficiently make needed repairs and maintenance</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by the dredge captain &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p><ul id=\"isPasted\"><li>High school diploma or equivalent&nbsp;</li><li>Three or more years of Deck Captain experience</li><li>Excellent safety and mechanical skills&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position as outlined in the Functional Job Description&nbsp;</li><li>Must be able to successfully pass all pre-employment screening (drug test, fit test) in addition to random drug and alcohol testing&nbsp;</li></ul><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION</strong></p><ul><li>Weekly pay, one week in arrears</li><li>Standard work hours are typically 12 hours daily; however, adjustments may be made depending on the operational requirements.</li><li>This is an FLSA Salaried, Exempt position.</li></ul><p><strong>Candidates who do not meet the minimum requirements will not be considered.</strong></p><p><strong>This is not a VISA sponsored position, must be authorized to work in the US.</strong></p><p>Encore Dredging Partners, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
