Position Description: The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)  will collaborate with a variety of school-based staff to design high-quality resources and programming for students with significant behavioral needs and to provide ongoing support related to the implementation of these resources. The BCBAt will work closely with students using restorative and de-escalation practices as well as facilitating tier 2 and tier 3 interventions such as self-regulation groups and individual behavior services. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally climb ladders. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high. Essential Functions: Facilitate staff and family team meetings to present data collection and assessment findings as well as individualized plan recommendations and Consult with Special Education teachers and school psychologist on IEP recommendations for appropriate goals, services and descriptions of present levels related to adaptive behavior Participate in IEP meetings as a member of the IEP team Provide staff with consultation, coaching and/or modeling to support the implementation of individualized BIPs at school sites Conduct ongoing follow-up assessments, evaluations and observations on the progress of BIPs, reporting new information to staff and families Collaborate with school leaders to create a school-wide vision of excellence on behavioral supports for students with intensive behavioral needs Provide ongoing consultation to school leaders and and other staff in order to propel the evolution of Rocketship’s model for supporting students with intensive behavioral needs Design and implement professional development related to behavioral management strategies and/or implementation of BIPs for teams within schools Provide direct support to individual students in accordance with BIPs as needed Assist in coordinating, communicating and seeking consultation with external community agencies Participate as a member of school site problem-solving teams (for example: Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) team, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) leadership team, Student Study Team (SST) and the School Crisis Team (SCT)) Collaborate with Special Education case managers and school psychologists to create comprehensive evaluation reports and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with behavioral services; support in maintenance of compliant records of these IEPs Qualifications: Advanced training in applied behavioral analysis and support (BCBA certification strongly preferred) Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field 3+ years experience working in an educational or therapeutic setting Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program development, behavior reduction and skill acquisition procedures, data collection Strong commitment to ensuring equity and inclusion for students with intensive behavioral needs Thorough understanding of best practices for supporting students with intensive behavioral needs and commitment to working with students with severe, challenging behaviors Experience supervising ABA programs and a team of providers (strongly preferred) Excellent analytical and data-based decision making skills; proven ability to interpret multiple metrics and use data to inform action plans for students and schools Experience working in an elementary school environment (strongly preferred) Experience working in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (highly preferred) Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, with a demonstrated ability and desire to flexibly shift responsibilities over time as the role and department evolve Strong customer-service orientation in approach to work with teachers and school leaders Team player with extraordinary written and oral communication skills Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations, investment in culturally responsive family engagement Deep commitment to Rocketship’s mission to eliminate the achievement gap within our lifetimes
